Website: www.barusahib.org Free Medical Camp & Teacher Training Institutes The Kalgidhar Society – Baru Sahib is a non-profit charitable organization and is dedicated for social transformation. The Kalgidhar Society, Baru Sahib runs 2 Private Universities, 24 Colleges, 6 Teachers Training Centres to empower rural girls, 1 Hospital with 280 beds, 3 De-addiction Centres, 1 Orphanage, 1 Old Age Home, and 1 Rehabilitation Centre for Distressed Women, apart from organizing Free Medical Camps for the poor in the hilly areas of Sirmaur, Himachal Pradesh. The hospital has multipledepartments like General Medicine, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Pediatrics and others which provide free medical services to economically backward patients.Large scale medical camps are regularly conducted with various specializations treating the poor people. Mobile vans provide free medical setup & free medicine is distributed. When free medical camps are organized the doctors & volunteers are busy as people keep pouring in at the camp. Poor children, most of them malnourished, even without their parents, line up to see the pediatricians. Patients needing surgery were referred to hospitals for free surgeries. In every medical camp our doctors examine many patients & the medicines are dispatched to all of them. In rural areas, there are often no facilities available for basic health care needs. The few that are there are under-staffed and mismanaged. Hence poor families suffer, particularly women and children because of the lack of doctors in remote locations. Besides health our next area of focus is education. Kalgidhar Society – Baru Sahib is amongst leading Education Foundations in India focusing on imparting education to the poor and needy. The society’s elementary teacher training academyis a teacher training institutes in Punjab and Northern India whichempowers rural women by providing them employment opportunities in the field of education. This program aims to achieve following objectives: Empower rural girls through quality training in a secure environment. Ensure employment in fields related to education. Provide The KalgidharSociety with a pool of teachers dedicated to it’s mission and objectives. Besides Education, the Elementary Teacher Training, these girls are also given training in stitching and tailoring.

These girls will be given hands-on teaching experience at Akal Academy Baru Sahib and other Akal Academies, following which they will be employed as regular teachers for Akal Academies (K.G. and Primary level) on salaries equivalent to other regular teachers.
So we work with a single-minded dedication of working towards the benefit of underprivileged so that they can live a prosperous life and bring thousands of others out of the poverty as well.
