Help Wanted! The Petersen Barn Senior Program is look-ing for 1-2 volunteers to help at our meals.
Duties include some food prep, food ser-vice, and assisting with set up and clean up.
We have between 2-3 meals each month
and the time commitment is 3-4 hours per event. Contact Janet if you are interested.

Forest History Museum Learn about Oregon's historic forestry legacy at the Forest History Center in Salem. See displays featuring fire fighting and fire operations, logging tools, early surveying and technical equipment, lookout towers, CCC projects, reforestation and more. Purchase own lunch. Wildlife Images Rehabilitation Center This center near Grants Pass provides care and treatment for injured and orphaned wildlife, caring for more than 1,000 animals each year. Learn about their programs and see their permanent residents including bears, birds of prey, a wolf, badger and more in a safe, up-close setting. Purchase own lunch and admission ($10). It's off to Newport for a visit to the Pacific Maritime Heritage Center. The center features maritime-related exhibits and art. Current exhibits feature Oregon shipwrecks, and surfing in Oregon. Antique Powerland Museum If you have any interest in old machinery and steam power, then a visit to the Antique Powerland in Brooks is a must. Activity Level Ratings Level 1: Little walking; okay for those with walkers, wheelchairs or walking difficulties. Level 2: Moderate walking. Similar to that at a shopping center or museum. Level 3: Walking of 1-2 miles (1-1.5 hours) as on a walking tour of gardens or the zoo. May be steps or hills. Level 4: Walking of up to 3-5 miles. May be rough, hilly or uneven terrain.
