Barista Badge Step 1: Explore the history of coffee. Learn about coffee terminology and the tools used to make various coffee drinks. Watch a Youtube video to learn how coffee drinking became a morning ritual and find out about the various techniques used to make coffee. Check out a coffee recipe or history book at the library, or listen to a podcast on the topic. Step 2: Learn from others. Find a cupping near you! A cupping is a coffee tasting process where you smell the beans and taste a couple types of coffee. Coffee shops sometimes offer tastings and roasters may offer tours. Ask questions of your local barista or find a friend who has worked in a coffee shop to teach you a thing or two. Step 3: Create and take action. Learn to make great coffee drinks at home and then share with others! Host a tasting for friends or family. Try coffee made in different ways: drip, pour-over, and french press. Share what you've learned about the history of coffee with your guests while you make them delicious coffee-based beverages. BADGE GUIDE
