Barham Bake Off

During lockdown many children have been baking but Sofia (Yr 6) actually ap-plied for Junior Bake Off! She was cho-sen from thousands of applicants and

made it through three auditions. Sadly, she wasn’t chosen for the show but she received a lovely email encouraging her to apply again next year. Here are some photos from the Zoom chat interview.

Well done Sofia!

Jack and Layla from Wrens have also been busy in the kitchen. Jack made a gooseberry crumble and Lyla enjoyed making

space biscuits and space costumes for her teddy.

Brilliant Barham!

All of the staff at Barham know just how amazing the

children are. We are always impressed by their positive

attitude, resilience and kindness and this has been high-

lighted during this period when they have been away

from school. Every week, we have been touched by the

photos we have re-

ceived of the children

doing thoughtful

deeds and this week

has been no differ-

ent. We are so proud

of Sofia (Yr 4) who

had her hair cut and

then sent the hair to the Little Princess Trust. This amaz-

ing charity uses the hair they receive to make wigs for

children and young people who have suffered hair loss.

We think you’ll agree that Sofia’s new hair style looks

fantastic!

Ivy and Ethan from Jays have been raising money for

charity. Ivy couldn’t complete her Race For Life so chose

to create the Barham 6K! She raised over £250 for Can-

cer Research. Ethan and his little sister sold some of their

books and toys to raise £23.10 for the animals at the

zoo. They chose to use this to adopt Tyson the Honey

Badger.

Lucy (Yr 5) has been making tasty treats

and donating 40% of the money made

to NHS charities.

Magical Maths

There has been lots of fantas-tic maths happening this week. Koby from Owls meas-ured the height of each of the members of his family using a

tape measure, his hands and his feet!

and Ivy all sent videos to Mrs Sharpe, with Evie reading

her book of old and new transport and Joseph and Ivy

explaining the science behind the way in which their egg

box cars move.

Zoom interview for the Horrid

Henry ‘locked down podcast’
