Term 2 Week 7
Welcome back! It’s great
to finally have all students
back on site and in their
classrooms returning to
learning programs. So
many smiling faces came
through the gate as we
returned the week before
last.
Well what a last few months.
As we move through this term
and away from COVID
restrictions and towards a
new normal, it’s important to
look at the positives that
come from such a crisis.
Many parents I’ve spoken to
have enjoyed the increased
amount of time spent with
family to connect and enjoy
each other’s company. From
a school perspective we
were thrown into a situation
that no one had a blueprint
or road map for and we
successfully flipped learning
from inside the classroom to
outside the school gates. We
were able to provide a
remote mode of learning to
every student, whether it be
online or through paper
packs – every child was
accounted for. This
happened in such a short
time frame, with all staff
learning very quickly how to
provide remote learning,
especially in the online form.
All staff from administration
through to teaching and non
-teaching roles went above
and beyond during this time
to ensure student learning
continued and their
wellbeing mattered. To them
– thank you.
To the parents, carers,
grandparents, family
members and friends that
supported remote learning at
home thank you. Thank you
for stepping into our role and
turning your homes into mini
classrooms to ensure students
stayed engaged. I imagine it
wasn’t always easy (I
experienced this at home
myself!) however your ability
to assist us during this time
was appreciated.
Our students too have been
extremely successful during
this time. Demonstrating the
ability to adapt to a different
mode of learning while not
having the day to day visual
and verbal contact with their
teachers was remarkable.
Students have emerged from
this situation with new skills,
skills of independence and
upgraded skills and abilities in
using technology. They have
continued to impress recently
with resilience, determination
and persistence while
adapting again, moving from
home learning back to
learning in the classroom. I
am in awe as to how well
they have done this and
thank them for doing it so
well.
Outside of school gates
As restrictions continue the
staff at our school have
appreciated your
understanding and
commitment to remaining
outside the school gates
during the drop off and pick
up times. Parents and carers
can enter the school
administration area and
canteen area only for
essential business or need.
Please contact the school
via phone for all other
enquiries. Thank you for your
ongoing support adhering to
these restrictions.
Making contact with staff
The school will be continuing
to use the class Seesaw app
used during remote learning.
With the current restrictions in
place not allowing
community on site this is the
easiest way to contact your
child’s teacher. Contact can
still be made via calling the
office and leaving a
message. Please note that
teachers will not be able to
respond to Seesaw posts
during teaching time.

Health and Hygiene
The health of all, on school
site, is extremely important as
we move through winter.
While the COVID situation
seems to be in decline we still
need to ensure that
everyone continues to
exercise good hygiene
practices. Classrooms are
stocked with sanitiser and
wipes, while we have also
recently installed 8 new soap
dispensers. Please continue
to talk to and encourage
your children to practise
good hygiene. This will help
to ensure, whether COVID is
present or not, that our
students, staff and
community remain healthy
and decrease the risk of cold
and flu during these months.
If your child is ill, advice
remains the same, please
seek medical advice and
keep them at home until they
are well.
Staff
We have several staff who
under medical
recommendations and best
health advice are unable to
return to work on site. We
have ensured the continuity
of teaching and learning
programs by temporarily
filling these positions until the
end of term and further
advice is provided. We
welcome to our school:
Stacey Pratton - Learning and
Support
Nicole Stokes - STEM RFF
Liz Bradley - Learning and
Support
Natalie Weaver - Learning
and Support
Jocelyn Keller - Executive
release until the end of 2020.
School Uniform
As we move through winter
the lost property box is
becoming quite full. On a
regular basis it is emptied and
those items with names are
returned to the students to
whom they belong. Any items
without names are kept
either in the box or in the
office. Students coming to
school with an alternative
jumper other than a school
jumper may be provided with
one of these spare items to
wear. Any families requiring
assistance in obtaining
uniform can contact the
office. The P&C continue to
sell our school uniform
through the uniform shop.
Order forms can be obtained
through the school office,
canteen or contacting P&C
members.

Thank you for filling out our
recent parent survey. We
had close to 60 responses
and these will be shared in
the week 9 newsletter.
UPDATE OF FAMILY
INFORMATION AND STUDENT
PERMISSIONS
You may recall on two
occasions last term we tried
to send out to families an
envelope containing the
information we currently
have for each family/student
and their current publishing
permissions. We are going for
third time lucky and these
have been sent out today.
Please read the note inside
and check and complete
your family details and
permissions. Use the return
envelope provided and
return to school before
Wednesday 1st July. Thank
you for your assistance as this
will help us have the most of
to date details for contacting
parents and carers.
