Top 5 European Leagues investment in new players hit for the sixth time in 7 years an all-time record, reaching a whopping 4,7 bio€ (+11% vs last season)

Premier League led the way once again in terms of expenditure with 1,516m€ (+8%).However, LaLiga and SerieA had never been that close, after investing 1,319m€ and 1,178m€respectively. Both leagues hit all-time spending records and every league has grown morethan Premier League

Premier League revenue stagnation and sterling pound devaluation means that LaLiga andSerieA have been rapidly reducing expenditure gap. Never before LaLiga and SerieA wereso close, with 87% and 78% of Premier League investment respectively

LaLiga is once again the most polarised league after major investment by not only RealMadrid and FC Barcelona but also by Atlético and Sevilla. Premier League was once againthe least polarized tournament with 41% invested by top 4 teams

In terms of player sales, LaLiga sides collected a whopping 1,027m€ (+29%), an all-timerecord. SerieA, Ligue1 and Bundesliga also hit all-time records, while Premier League sidessold players for 810m€, 2nd highest amount in history
