LES RAMBLES La Rambla is a street

in central Barcelona. It’s a 1,2 kilometer-long, tree-lined pedestrian mall. It connects Catalunya Square and the Christopher Columbus Monument.

CATALUNYA SQUARE

It’s a large square in central Barcelona. Some of the city’s most important streets and avenues meet there.

SAGRADA FAMÍLIA

The church of Sagrada Familia was designed by Antoni Gaudí. The church has been under construction.

CASA MILÀ (LA PEDRERA)

Casa Milà, as La Pedrera is a building designed by the architect Antoni Gaudí. It was built during the years 1905-1910.

CASA AMATLLER Casa Amatller is a

building in the modernisme style. It was originally designed as a residence for chocolatier Antoni Ametller. It was constructed between 1898 and 1900.

Christopher Columbus discovered America.

The boats that he had were the Pinta, Nina and Santa Maria.

AGBAR TOWER

The Torre Agbar is a new technological building. It was constructed by a French architect in 2005. There are offices, services, an auditorium and a parking lot.

HARBOURIt is the nineth

largest container port in Europe. It’s divided in three zones: Port Vell (the old harbour), the commercial port and the logistics port.

overlooking Barcelona. At 512 meters it is the tallest mountain in the Serra de Collserola.

MONTJUÏCIt’s a hill situated in

the southwest of the city center. The top of the hill was the site of fortifications. The latest was the Castell de Montjuïc.

EIXAMPLEIt’s a district of

Barcelona. It’s famous because of its long straight streets crossed by avenues and square blocks with chamfered corners. It was designed by Ildefons Cerdà.

GOTIC DISTRITIt’s in the center of the old

city. There are buildings date from the Medieval period, the Romans, and there is also the Jewish quarter.

CAMP NOUIt’s a football stadium.

The stadium has been the home of FC Barcelona since 1957. In the club there are famous players like Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, Piqué, Puyol, etc.

PARK GÜELL The park Güell is

a garden that was designed by Antoni Gaudí in the 1900s. There’s a dragon made with ceramic in the park.

La Mercè is the most important festival in the city. It has been an official city holiday since 1871. The actual feast day is September 24th.
