In1975,PerlickintroducedtheTopShelflineofstainlesssteelunderbarequipment.

Itwasrevolutionaryinitsconceptanddesign.Previouslyallthatwasofferedwas

eitherstocksinksandicechestsorfullycustomequipment.Stockequipmentlimits

designflexibilitytherebycompromisingtheoperatingefficiencyofwhatisthe

biggestprofitcenterinarestaurant.However,whiletheuseofcustomequipment

dramaticallyimprovesabar’soperatingefficiency,itcostsmuchmoreandcantake

uptotwomonthstodesignandproduce.Thelimitationofhavingonlythosetwo

optionswasdramaticallyalteredwiththeintroductionofthePerlickTopShelfline.

WithTopShelf,Perlickofferedamodularsystemthatcombinedthelowpriceand

quickdeliveryofstockequipmentwiththeprofitenhancingdesignflexibilityof

customequipment.TheTopShelflineincludedalargearrayofstandardmodulesin

sixinchincrementsthatcouldbefactoryassembledtocreateanunlimitedvariety

ofcustomcocktailstations.AlsowithTopShelfweintroducedmodularinsideand

outsidecornerfillersthatchangedbardirectionin15degreeincrementssothe
