What is Westpac One?Looking for the easiest and most convenient way to manage your finances? Stay on top of your banking while on the move with Westpac One, our online banking service. It gives you a simple and convenient way to manage your money wherever you are, whenever you choose to.

Why do I need online banking?Life can get busy, so it’s helpful to have the option to access your banking without having to visit a branch or call us. That’s why we built Westpac One, so you can do your everyday banking from anywhere using your smartphone, computer or tablet.

Whether you need to access an account, stay on top of your payments, temporarily block a card, or get notified when your account goes under a certain amount – Westpac One will help you do all this and much more.

How do I get started?Register for Westpac One.If you aren’t already, you need to be registered to use Westpac One online banking. You can do this in a few ways:

Call 0800 400 600 and press 7 to be transferred to one of our dedicated staff members

Drop in to your local branch. Find one and its hours at westpac.co.nz/branch

Log in to Westpac One. Once you’ve registered, you can access Westpac One on your computer by visiting westpac.co.nz and clicking ‘Login’ in the top right hand corner. Or download the Westpac One app from the App Store or Google Play to access it on your smartphone or tablet. Once you reach the log in page, simply enter your Customer ID or username and password.

How safe is Westpac One online banking?With its sophisticated security, Westpac One will work to keep you safe.When you access your accounts through Westpac One, you are protected by our world-class online security system, Online Guardian. This secure and advanced fraud detection system learns your normal banking activity and identifies any unusual activity. You can also set up free security emails and texts to keep track of your online banking activity, bank account and credit card status.

In addition, our online banking fraud team analyses banking activity. So if you get a call from them, it could be because they have spotted transactions that may look suspicious, and will ask you to confirm that they were authorised by you. They will never ask you for confirmation of your security details or password.

While Westpac One online banking is highly protective, you can help it keep you safe and secure by taking sensible precautions. Like never sharing your password or PIN number with anyone, and only entering your details into the official Westpac One log in page.

How to pay a person or bill.

1 Select ‘Pay and Transfer’

2 Select the account you wish to pay from

3 To pay a person, select recipient under ‘Payees’ or enter new account number in ‘New or Overseas’

4 To pay a bill, select ‘New or Overseas’ and type in and select the name of the company you wish to pay

5 Enter reference details, amount and date for the transaction

6 Click ‘Continue’

7 Check the details are correct and click ‘Confirm payment’

How to transfer money between your accounts.

1 Select ‘Pay and Transfer’

2 Select the account you wish to pay from

3 Select destination account

4 Enter reference details, amount and date for the transaction

5 Click ‘Continue’

6 Check the details are correct and click ‘Confirm payment’

Step by step guides.

How to set-up an automatic payment.

1 Follow steps 1 to 3 as per ‘How to pay a person or bill’

2 Select the date field to define the payment start date and frequency

3 Choose the first payment date for your automatic payment then select the ‘Repeat Payment’ drop down to select the frequency you’d like the payment to be made

4 Select the payment rules and a name for the automatic payment

5 Click ‘Done’

6 Click ‘Continue’

7 Check the details are correct and click ‘Confirm payment’

How to temporarily block a credit or debit card.

1 Scroll to the bottom of the accounts screen and tap ‘Manage cards’

2 Select the card you wish to block

3 Next to ‘Block this card temporarily’ click the slider to move to ‘On’

4 Click ‘Apply block’

5 Click ‘Close’

6 Note this is a temporary block and you can unblock the card by moving the slider to ‘Off’

How to change your contact details (on your computer).

1 Select ‘Profile’

2 Click ‘Edit’ next to the details you are wanting to change

3 Answer the Online Guardian Challenge

4 Enter new details and click ‘Apply’

How to download statements.

1 Select the account you want to download a statement from

2 If you’re on your smartphone, select the three dots in the top right corner

3 Select ‘Download statements’

4 Select the timeframe you want to see statements for and then select ‘View statements’

5 In the list below, select the statement you wish to view
