Getting Started:Understandinghow we print.

If your order is between 144 and

5,000 pieces, silkscreen is

your only option.

If your order is 5000 piecesor more, you can choose between silkscreen or rotary. As the quantity increases rotary offers faster production time, better pricing and more design/ color options.

Silkscreen is a one-sided imprint on cloth that has been dyed a color and cut and sewn into bandannas. Because the cloth has been dyed, it is the same color front and back.

Rotary printing starts with white cloth. Your design is printed on one side of the bandanna, with colors being pushed through to the back. This creates a “snowy” look on the back, which is more noticeable on a dark background than on a light background.

In silkscreen printing, the imprint color is laid down on top of a dyed piece of cloth. The color of the cloth can change the color of the imprint. For example, a red imprint on blue cloth could lose some of its “redness”. Bandannas, unlike T-shirts, cannot be printed with a white base coat first. If matching a PMS color is critical, it’s best to use a white or natural bandana.

Rotary printing starts with white cloth. Each color in your design is printed directly on white cloth - making colors vibrant and true.

PMS colors can be easily matched.

Four-color process printing can only be done by silkscreen. See page 25 for details.

While we cannot print process color designs with rotary, we can get a similar look. This requires printing your design in 5 to 8 colors. Our art department can help you determine the number of colors required based upon your design.

Silkscreen printing does not allow for edge-to-edge printing. All designs must have a border. When starting with a blank 22” bandanna, the imprint size is 18” x 18”. We offer many pre-printed designs to which you can add your imprint. These designs offer open center, overprint or edge print options.

Edge-to-edge printing is possible with rotary printing, but only certain layouts will work. Our production department must approve your design. Our staff can also recommend changes that will allow your design to be printed edge-to-edge. If your design cannot be printed edge-to-edge, the imprint size is

the same as on a silkscreen order.

Multi-color imprints are available starting at 144 pieces. A screen is needed for each color. We can print up to six spot colors.

SILKSCREEN ROTARY

Like all silkscreen imprints, the ink sits on top of the fabric and can be felt when you rub your hand over it.

With rotary printing the ink is absorbed into the cloth and cannot be felt when you rub your hand over it. As a result, you get a softer

feeling bandanna.

We print four-color process on white or natural bandannas only. The minimum order is 300 pieces and production time is 15 working days from the time we receive and approve the required films.

Here’s what is required for a process color order: • To size, color-separated C-Y-M-K films. You can expect these films to cost between $295(H) and $350(H). • From the films, four screens will be made. Each screen is $60(H).

PROCESS COLOR

• When you send us the films be sure to include a color key, a printout of what the final design is to look like.

Please contact the factory for an information sheet that explains everything we need to produce a process color order, including the contact information for a company who has successfully made films for bandanna printing. Printing process color on fabric is not the same as printing on paper. Films must be ordered specifically for bandanna printing.

When order quantity falls between listed quantities, the entire order is priced at the lower quantity. Sizes: Can vary by 5% Billing terms and credit cards: Net 30 with approved credit. We accept VISA, MASTERCARD, AMEX. ARTWORK Art charges: Artwork that must be improved will incur an art charge of $51(H) per hour, with a minimum of one hour. Art charges of one hour or less will be invoiced and processed without distributor approval and no delay in production. Production cannot begin until all art issues/charges have been resolved and art has been approved by Bandanna Promotions (BP). A delay in providing useable artwork will affect your ship date. Artwork will be sized to maximum imprint size unless specified. Images created in vector format, such as Adobe Illustrator, are preferred. If you do not have vector art you may send rastor art, but it must be at least 300 dpi and at the full size of your imprint. Art charges will apply to convert rastor to vector art. Requirements: Include all files that have been placed, embedded, nested, or imported in your final layout. Convert all fonts to curves or outlines. Adobe Illustrator, Freehand and CorelDraw give you this option.File types: Adobe Illustrator CS6 and earlier versions (AI files); Adobe Photoshop CS6 and earlier versions (PSD files); or PDF, EPS, JPG or TIFF files. IMPRINTS -- Silkscreen Multi-color imprints: We can print silkscreen imprints in up to six colors. Every color requires its own screen and running charge. The minimum order for a multi-color imprint is 144 pieces. PMS color imprints: Unless requested,exact color matching is not guaranteed. Colors will be matched as close as possible. A PMS color -- $15(H) per color -- is guaranteed on white/natural bandanna only.Metallics add $.20 (A). Rotary Rotary inks are water-based and printed on white cloth. Imprints will not change color and color migration is not an issue. Flash drying is not required and there is no set up or screen charge for additional colors. Overs/Unders: We reserve the right to ship up to 5% over or under the quantity ordered. On rotary press orders, exact quantities cannot be guaranteed. We will ship +/- 5%; on import orders we ship up to 10% over. REORDERS & OTHER CHARGES Screens: Screen charge is listed on product page. Every color requires its own screen. Set up charge on reorders $25(H) per color. Provide PO number & date of most recent order. All other charges apply. We cannot guarantee shading of fabric or ink coverage from reorder to reorder due to different fabric dye lots. Pre-production proof: Available on placed orders only. INFORMATION

There is a $15(H) mixing charge when exact PMS color matches are requested. Exact matches

should be done on white or natural bandannas only. Exact PMS matches are not guaranteed on

colored bandannas.

Depending on the imprint ink color and the color of the cloth being printed, the imprint ink may change color. Unfortunately bandannas cannot be printed with a white underlay first in an attempt to keep colors from being affected by the cloth color. This works on many textile products, such as T-shirts, but it does not work on bandannas.

When colors meetOn silkscreen orders the imprint color may be affected by the color of the cloth. For example, a red imprint on a royal blue bandanna will not look as red as when it is printed on a white bandanna. We will make every effort to keep colors true, however we cannot stop this color change from occurring. Fabric bleed also can affect a silkscreen imprint. Excess dye in the cloth can bleed into the imprint changing the color. This can happen days after the imprint has been applied. Fabric bleed occurs most often when white is printed on a strong color background such as - but not limited to - red, navy blue, green and black. It is impossible to tell before an imprint is applied if fabric bleed will be an issue. While Bandanna Promotions uses the highest quality inks, they can still be affected. We pay extra to get the most opaque white ink available in an effort to keep white imprints white. This extra cost is not passed on to our customers. Even so, we cannot guarantee fabric bleed will not occur.

If your order calls for a color imprint on a color bandanna, we ask that you sign a release agreeing to the above terms. The release will be emailed to you. Your order will not proceed until the signed release is returned.


WARRANTY BP is committed to quality, not only in our products but in the service we provide. Due to the nature of fabric, we cannot guarantee against variances in the color, shade, texture, size, and construction of finished goods. Fabric colors may vary from one lot to the next. Exact matching of fabric colors on reorders or the degree of colorfastness cannot be guaranteed. Similar colors of different materials & sizes may not be an exact match. Domestic colors and import colors are not the same. OUR PRODUCTS ARE NOT PRIMARILY INTENDED FOR CHILDREN AGES 12 AND UNDER.
