Our Principal Psychotherapists are senior members of staff able to work collaboratively with their colleagues within Specialist Psychological Therapies and more widely across the trust; taking on specific projects and delegated areas of management as well as deputising for the Head of Service when required. This is a post for an experienced psychotherapist with a core mental health profession who has a qualification in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy and is on the UKCP register through the CPJA section as a psychoanalytic psychotherapist or on the BPC register. A core mental health qualification is essential. It is also essential that there is extensive post-qualification experience of working within mental health within the NHS in that core profession as well as practicing in the NHS as a psychoanalytic/ dynamic psychotherapist.

The Forensic service is district wide service, covering city and county areas. The client group is

The Forensic Service is a tertiary service, taking referrals from secondary and in some cases, primary

care based on patients risk profiles. We work collaboratively with social care, police, Housing,

MAPPA, prisons and any other provider involved in the care of mentally disordered offenders. The

post holder will be expected to have a high standard of written and verbal communication, and a good

understanding of CPA. It is essential for the applicant to have significant post registration experience

within community mental health work. It is also essential for the applicant to have a good

understanding of the forensic client group based within community settings.

The applicant will be expected to have a level of experience which enables them to use their skills to

de-escalate and manage potentially threatening situations. They will be expected to work within the

CPA process and to use risk assessments to deliver effective, safe care to the client group. The

applicant will be skilled in managing time, producing reports for tribunals and manager hearings, and

work within MAPPA requirements.

The applicant must have RN Mental Health Qualification, a good application of IT skills and they must

The post holder will be required to work autonomously holding a complex outpatient case load. Duties

and challenging behaviours requiring a holistic treatment and management approach. Non-medical

prescribing (V300) qualification is essential for this post.

Applications are welcome from Registered Learning Disability Nurses with the appropriate experience

but who do not hold the Advanced Nurse Practitioner qualification. If successful the applicant would

be required to undertake the ANP course and would be paid at Band 7 pay band whilst undertaking

training which would rise to Band 8A pay band upon successful qualification.

The patient group referred to the service are children and young people with moderate to profound

learning disability presenting with mental health, ASD, ADHD, Sleep and associated challenging

behaviours which may include physical aggression to others. The successful candidate will need to

undertake MAPA disengagement and safeholding skills.

The service covers a wide geographical area of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland and so own

transport or suitable alternative not requiring the use of public transport is essential.

The working pattern is 30 hours to be worked flexibly over a minimum of 4 days to meet service and

The On-Call team assesses children and young people who have presented with concerns about their

The objective of the assessment is to determine the best mental health care pathway for children and

young people, options available following assessment are:

• Refer for an assessment under the Mental Health act

• Informal/voluntary admission to a mental health unit

• Arrange or provide 7 Day follow up if required for review.

• Discharge back home and if required inform the existing mental health care team of the attendance

at ED and any agreed plan

• Discharge back to GP if no further action required and sign post to a more appropriate service,

informing the GP of the plan

Families, Young People & Children’s Directorate of Leicestershire Partnership Trust which provides a

wide range of health services to children, young people and their families in Leicester, Leicestershire

& Rutland.

The post holder will provide a key contribution to the work involved to reduce patient non attendances

across the Service, in line with a Did Not Attend (DNA) C-QUIN target which has to be achieved by

31-3-2017. The work will include the ability to source, and use data to identify families who may

struggle to attend clinical appointments for their child. The post holder will work closely with and be

responsible to the Care Navigator for the CAMHS service and will be required to work flexibly and

independently using their initiative in this post. The role will involve contacting families by telephone to

remind them of forthcoming appointments for their child, identifying any barriers to attendance and

using a range of approaches will help the family overcome these to enable their child’s attendance.

The post holder will work with CAMHS clinical, administrative, IT staff and managers of all disciplines

to contribute to the achievement of the C-QUIN target. The successful candidate will be able to

demonstrate they understand the importance of placing the child and family at the heart of the service

offered as well as possessing excellent communication, influencing, customer care and telephone

skills. They will be able to demonstrate they have a positive, ‘can do’ attitude to their work. The

successful candidate will be well organised in their work and will be able to analyse simple data and

information to help with understanding and problem solving.

Recent experience and competency using SystmOne as well as being able to use and work with data

in EXCEL are necessary for this position. Knowledge of the CAMHS service would also be an

advantage for this post, but is not mandatory. There will be a requirement for the post holder to travel

to other CAMHS bases and so this would suit someone ideally with access to their own transport.
