Environmental Management

Indicators: 2 species, 95 000 plants production in 4 village

nurseries 90ha plantation for greening; soil erosion control

and water recharge Key activities:

Organise the production of plants in village nurseries

Do baseline data and set up some demonstration school fields (Soil Erosion - Soil Improvement - Water Capture/Recharge - Carbon Sequestration - Tools for matching bamboo species)

Bamboo Farming System Development Indicators:

01 micro-tissue unit, 2000 women producing, 50 000 plants in household

based planting materials 1000 women + 1000 farmers planting bamboo in

homesteads/farm boundaries 1000 women using bamboo as fodder

Key activities: Promote the production of planting materials in HH

based Promote the plantation in homesteads and farm

boundaries Doing some data collection and promote the use of

bamboo leaves as fodder

4000 women producing 1000 tons HHC 1500 small farmers providing 1500 tons of

agri waste Key activities:

Organise the collection of HH charcoal and agriwaste for the production of briquettes

Component 4: Livelihoods Diversification Indicators:

2 commodities 0.2 tons / day; 60 youth; 4 enterprises with 50 youth each; 10 new designs;

Key activities: Operationalise the 2 CPTCs installed during the first

phase and do market assessment for the installation of other CPTCs in IFAD loan projects intervention’s areas;

Set up model enterprises in apiculture, construction (panel board…), packaging and furniture (school…);

Providing Business Development Services: market access, financial exercise access…
