You will read the “Atlanta Compromise” and skim Chapter 3 of “Souls of Black Folk” and answer the following questions.

1. What course for black equality is Washington advocating in the “Atlanta Compromise?”

2. What course of black equality is Dubois advocating in his response to Mr. Booker T. Washington in Chapter 3 of “Souls of Black Folk?”
