BALLET Alberto Iglesias’ work in ballet also includes original scores for dancer/choreographer Nacho Duato and his National Dance Company. He wrote and produced “Tabulae” (1994), “Cero Sobre Cero” (1995) and “Self” (1997). OTHER COMPOSITIONS Sh-h-h (1988): Piece for String Quartet and electronic music. Habitación en Do (2004): Instrumental ensemble piece, part of a serial of “tuned rooms” Assault to the Castle (2006): Assault to the castle is an orchestral and vocal work in eight movements. The castle represents an imaginary circle full of multiple directions or situations, which we explore through the different parts of the work. It is an inside journey through concepts such us modesty-shame, cruelty, the incomprehensible word, the desire, the delirious image, the brief or static vision, the intimacy. Orfeo en Palermo (2007): Music work orchestred for violoncello soloist, foley artist, narrator and full orchestra. Composed in two mouvments this music tells Orfeo´s travel to hell. In The Land of The Lemon Trees (2009): Music work for Soprano, Guitar and Orchestra, written in three parts. This piece was inspired in three poems of John Ashbery, René Char and Wallace Stevens. The premiere, in Chicago -November of 2009-, was performed by Dawn Upshaw and The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Miguel Harth-Bedoya. Cuarteto Breve (2010): Piece for String Quartet, written to commemorate de 40 Anniversary of The Tokyo String Quartet. Les Chansons Legères (2015): Music work for Countertenor, 2 Pianos & Orchestra.
