BALAK: MONEY IS THE ANSWER FOR EVERYTHING

• Ecclesiastes 10:19 – A feast is made for laughter, and wine makes life merry, but money is the answer for everything

• Mark 10:28-30 – Peter said to him, “We have left everything to follow you.” “I tell you the truth,” Jesus replied, “no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel will fail to receive 100 times as much..... (.....and with them persecutions) and in the age to come, eternal life.”

BALAAM: NOT EVERYONE WHO SAYS, “LORD...”

• Matthew 7:21-22 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he does the will of my Father, who is in heaven. For many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, did we not prophesy in your name....?’”

BALAAM: NOT EVERYONE WHO SAYS, “LORD...”

• Galatians 3:26-27 So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptised into Christ have clothed yourself with Christ.

THE DONKEY: AN UNEXPECTED SAVIOUR

• He saw the angel of the Lord with drawn sword• The Lord was angry with Balaam for his cheap view

of God and his underlying heartlessness• Balaam stated that he would have killed the donkey

if he could have• The angel stated that he would have killed Balaam

if the donkey had not turned him away• Balaam repented when he realised he’d been saved

THE DONKEY: AN UNEXPECTED SAVIOUR

• 1 Peter 2:23-24 – When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats...by his wounds you have been healed.

JESUS: HE WALKED TOWARDS GOD’S WRATH

• Mark 10:32-34 They were on their way up to Jerusalem, with Jesus leading the way, and the disciples were astonished, while those who followed were afraid...”We are going up to Jerusalem...and the Son of Man will be betrayed...They will condemn him to death and hand him over to the Gentiles...Three days later he will rise.”
