The Child Education Society, the apex body of Bal Bharati Public Schools andother institutions of higher education, was set up in the year 1944 during thepre-independence era when the elders thought that Indian culture, heritage, traditionand ethos must be preserved and fostered and in order to achieve these objectives,it became obligatory for the Society to educate the young people. Thus, the Societywas registered under the Registration of Societies Act, 1860.

Today the affairs of the Society are managed by the Board of Management consistingof eminent educationists and social workers and headed by Sh. K.K. Khullar, aneminent educationist and a social worker as the President of the Society. Under hisdynamic leadership and with his team, the pace of expansion and development ofnew schools has greatly quickened in the recent years going up from just one schooland one institution (NTTI) till 1984 to as many as 3 Institutions, 12 schools with 3more to come up in the near future and 6 Project Schools in collaboration with theIndian Railways and National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC).

Bal Bharati Public Schools are comprehensive, co-educational English mediumschools. Hindi enjoys its pride of place as the National Language in its curriculum.

The schools built by the Society are set in congenial surroundings. ABOUT THE SCHOOL

Keeping in view the needs of the people of Dwarka, probably the fastest growingarea of Delhi, Child Education Society decided to start a unit of Bal Bharati PublicSchool here. The School started functioning in the year 1997 in the campus of BalBharati Public School, Pitampura and was shifted to its present premises in Dwarkain July 2001. The school has a strength of 2542 students on its roll at present.

THE SCHOOL COMPLEX

The school has a proactiveinfrastructure for the holisticdevelopment of each child.

The total area of the school campusis 15,794 sq. mtrs. and the total areaof the playground is 9794.37 sq. mtrs.The school building consists of threeblocks comprising spacious and airyclassrooms, library, audio-visualclassrooms, computer rooms, wellequipped laboratories and wellfurnished rooms for creative activitiessuch as art, painting, music anddance.

THE SCHOOL MANAGEMENT AND STAFF

The Managing Committee of the school is headed by Mr. K. K. Khullar as theChairman, Ms. Rekha Sharma as the Secretary/Manager and has a number ofprominent educationists and other luminaries as members. The Principal is supportedby a team of experienced and qualified teachers.

WINGS OF LEARNING

PRE-SCHOOL AND PRE-PRIMARY

The school follows the Montessorimethod of teaching at this stage. Thepupils learn in an informal way with thehelp of specially designed apparatusunder the supervision and guidance oftrained and experienced teachers.Special attention is paid to facilitate thephysical, mental, emotional and socialgrowth of the child through a series ofwell co-ordinated activities.

PRIMARY

In the Primary Department, emphasis is given not only on acquisition of newknowledge but also on concept formation and application of knowledge in practicallife situations. Stress is laid on 'learning by doing.' Children are given personalattention.They are exposed to pictorial information books and audio-visualprogrammes which excite their interest in learning.

Students are not unduly burdened with home work and are evaluated through theirday-to-day work and performance in studies and various curricular and co-curricularactivities.

MIDDLE AND SR. SECONDARY

To sustain the interest of students in learning, latest scientific and electronic methodsare practised in classroom teaching. Self-discipline of the body and mind is practisedthrough conscious and deliberate efforts. Continuous and comprehensive systemof evaluation is followed to grade the performance of pupils.

LABORATORIES

The school aims at developing thespirit of enquiry and scientifictemper among students from anearly stage. In addition, thecustomized computer-aidedlearning, projects, models, charts,powerpoint presentations and otherrelated educational aids maketeaching-learning process livelyand interactive. The school has two well stocked librarieswith a good collection of over 19,000books ranging from encyclopedias tofiction and text books. GAMES & SPORTS'A healthy mind lies in a healthy body.' Depending on their age and stage ofdevelopment, the children are trained in various sports and games under the guidanceof trained Physical Education teachers. SHOULDERING RESPONSIBILITIES

PREFECTORIAL BOARD

A prefectorial board has been constituted togroom future leaders who volunteer to shoulderresponsibilities. The Head Boy and the HeadGirl head a team of prefects who help in themaintenance of school discipline and inorganising various school programmes andactivities.

THE HOUSE SYSTEM

The school is divided into six Houses-Equality, Amity, Freedom, Progress, Peaceand Unity. The main idea of the House system is to provide training in qualities ofleadership, co-operation, mutual understanding, self reliance, peer bonding and teamspirit.

PARENT TEACHER ASSOCIATION

The P.T.A. Executive Body is actively involved in the progress of the school. Itsmembers work in close coordination with the school authorities and render invaluablecooperation. They meet from time to time to render their unconditional support inorganising various school functions such as Annual Day, Winter Carnival, SportsDay, Teachers' Day, Grandparents Day, etc.

The management, staff and the P.T.A. Executive Body work as a team to providenumber of avenues to children for their holistic development.

PARENT TEACHER MEETINGS

Parent Teacher Meetings are held regularly to update parents on the performance oftheir wards and to strengthen the bond between the school and the guardians.

The school works for five days a week for students.

TRANSPORT FACILITY :

(i) Limited transport facility is available on select areas in close proximity tothe school only.

(ii) All areas will not be covered by the school transport.

(iii) Bus facility will be provided subject to availability of buses and seats onthe given route.

(iv) Clear one month's notice is required in case of withdrawal from transport.

ADMISSION SCHEDULE

FREESHIPS

Freeships and scholarships are awarded on merit cum need basis. Seats are reservedfor the economically weaker section of the society.

EWS ADMISSIONS

25% of the seats are reserved for economically weaker section. . The parent has tosubmit an income certificate issued by Sub-Divisional Magistrate of the areaconcerned to this effect.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION

Admission is open to Pre-School for children between 3 & 4 years as on 31 March2013 (or as directed by competent authority).

2. Attested Photocopy of Parent(s) Voters Identity Card / Ration Card / Passport/ Electricity Bill / MTNL telephone bill /Water bill / House Tax Receipt etc.

3. Recent Coloured Passport size Photograph of the Child and Parents.

4. In case of Sibling applicants, the school Identity Card/last paid fee receipt ofsibling studying in the school/Photocopy of the last Report Card.

5. Affidavit from a notary certifying that the child is first born / first adopted /first surviving.

6. Proof to validate child with special needs from a Govt. Hospital/Dispensary.

7. Proof of alumnus of Bal Bharati Public School, Dwarka only i.e. photocopyof class X and XII /School Leaving Certificate of Parents.

5. Unique Identity Card of mother/father/child issued by Government of India.

6. Passport in the name of any of the parents or child.

C. Income Certificate: (Submit any one)

1. Income certificate issued by a Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tehsildar.

2. BPL Ration Card (Yellow Coloured).

3. AAY Ration Card (Pink Coloured).

D. Proof of Disadvantaged Group: (Submit any one)

EWS Application & Disadvantaged Group

1. Application form for applicants belonging to EWS category is available at theschool gate from January 1, 2013 to January 15, 2013 between 8.30 a.m. to2.00 p.m. on all working days of the school.

2. 25% of the seats are reserved for Economically Weaker and Disadvantagedsection as per rules. The parent has to submit an attested copy of certificateissued by a revenue officer not below the rank of Tehsildar or BPL RationCard (Yellow coloured) or AAY Ration Card (Pink coloured) as proof ofincome of the area concerned to this effect.

3. Applicants under Disadvantaged Group need to produce a Certificate issuedby a Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tehsildar or any other CompetentAuthority or Caste Certificate issued by DC Office or Medical Certificate fromGovt. Hospital, in case of Children with special needs/disabilities.

4. Admission shall first be offered to eligible students belonging to EWS andDisadvantaged group residing within 1 km of the specific school.

5. In case the vacancies remain unfilled, students residing within 3 kms of theschool shall be admitted.

6. If still, there are vacanices, then the admission shall be offered to other studentsresiding within 6 kms of the institution.

NOTE : In case number of applications in any of the above mentioned categoriesexceed number of seats available ,selection will be done by draw of lots.

FEES AND FUNDS (2013 -2014)

The fixation of the revised fee structure is under consideration and will be notified assoon as it is finalized.

MODE OF PAYMENT OF SCHOOL FEE

School fee is payable in quarterly instalments on production of a fee slip issued bythe School at the beginning of each quarter. The fee is payable in the first month ofthe quarter latest by 20th of that month.

The first payment of fee, at the time of admission, is accepted only by Demand Draftin favour of Bal Bharati Public School, Dwarka. Subsequent payment of fee to bemade through cheque or demand draft. Name of the student, Class, Section,Admission Number and Mobile / Residence Telephone No. should be written on theback of the cheque.

FEE SCHEDULE PAYMENT MONTH

1st Quarter (Apr to Jun) April

2nd Quarter (Jul to Sep) July

3rd Quarter (Oct to Dec) October

4th Quarter (Jan to Mar) January

FINE FOR LATE PAYMENT OF FEE :

– Rs. 100/- for payment made after notified date till the 10th of the 2nd month ofthe quarter.

– Rs. 200/- for payment made between the 11th of the 2nd month and the 10th ofthe 3rd month of the quarter. (both days inclusive)

– Rs. 500/- for payment made between the 11th of the 3rd month of the quarterand the last working day of the quarter.

– The name of the student will be struck off the roll if fee is not paid by the end ofthe quarter and re-admission fee will be charged for re-admitting the child intothe school.

– Cheques returned by the bank for any reason will be treated as non-paymentand fresh payment is to be made by Bank Draft, together with relevant fine asmentioned above plus Rs.100/- for cheque being returned.

– Clear one month's notice (in writing) is required for the withdrawal ofchild from school or else one month's fee has to be deposited.

SCHOOL UNIFORM

It is compulsory for all students to wear prescribed school uniform. All items ofsummer and winter uniform are available at the uniform counter at regulated prices.Parents are advised to purchase uniform from the school uniform counter in order toensure correctness of material, tailoring, cut and style.
