Two Baker systems Standard and Surset
First we will concentrate on Baker standard equipment
There are two standard landing nipples
Both are nogo landing nipples
Both have a profile, seal bore and nogo
Even though they have nogo shoulders Baker have a selectivesystem due to the lock type

Top nogo landing nipple the nogo is above the
seal bore
ID of the nipple is the seal bore dimension
Will accept the following locks
M,G,F and W
S selective due to lock
All L Sliding side doors have an F nipple profile

Bottom nogo landing nipple the nogo is below
the seal bore
ID of the nipple is the dimension of the nogoshoulder, smaller than seal bore
Will accept the following locks
Z,R,E and K
Always installed below an F nipple of the samenominal size

Equalizing assemblies can be added to all the
standard locks to form plugs
Gauge carries (bomb hangers) can be addedto two locks to be used in flowing applications
W lock in the top nogo F nipple
Z lock in the bottom nogo R nipple
V packing are attached to Equalizing devices

Three types used in standard Baker plugs
H Prong type, prong run and set after plug body is set.2 runs to set and 2 runs to pull
G Prong type, prong run with plug body. 1 run to setand 2 runs to pull
R Melon type, 1 run to set and 1 run to pull

Similar probes can havemodifications, e.g.
A & AC probes cannot be
used for the same operation,an AC probe has no internalthread to accept a prong
An M1 Probe has a telltaleshear pin where an M probehas not.

C1 used to run W, Z, G,R and Slocks, can be used to run FB & RBstanding valves
E Selective used to run S selectivelocks with all the dogs retracted
G Selective used to run S selectivelocks with up facing dogs trailing
C1 can be used to run the Sselective lock with the up facing dogstrailing

Baker M pulling tool used to run and pull
several locks E, M (locks) and B (safety valve) locks canbe run using the M pulling tool
With this tool the probe is also used to setthe device
E.g. when an M1 probe is used to set
devices, the probe has a shear pin toindicate correct setting

W lock and G equalizing device
Plug hold pressure from above and below
Prong run with plug body 1 run to set
Collet and collet bowl prevent prong moving down
Shear pin (brass) prevents the prong moving up
Run on C1 1 x Aluminum (prong) 2 x Brass (body)
Brass pins through body have 2 options

Depends on C1 pinning, best to pin allowing for
over-pull, pins below fishing neck RIH set down in nipple, jar down to land on nogo, dogs lock into profile, over pull to confirm
J ar up to shear Brass pins below FN on body, C1moves up pulling prong to sealing position, thenaluminum pin through prong shears
Prong lock in sealing position by collet and colletbowl

To pull device, pull prong using SB/J DC to equalize,
B probe must be attached to SB/J DC to pull plugbody, B probe collapses the dogs when engaging FN
W2 lock has different dogs, different pivot position
Smaller sized G equalizing assemblies have twopins through the collet bowl sleeve
SB or J DC must be used to pull device as skirt maycontact body preventing shearing off

Bottom nogo option for R nipples
Same function as FWG
Same running/pulling procedures as FWG
Because of FN angle and pulling tool OD differenceOtis pulling tool should be used
Ensure equalization before latching lock

Plug does not have a nogo shoulder
Can be run using either a C1, G selective or Eselective running tools
Shank holds dogs in running position, prong holdsmelon in equalizing position
When pulling device, Kobe plug on equalizing bodyis broken to allow pressure equalization

Run using an A shank and pulled using an AC probe
with an equalizing prong attached C1 with a locator ring to find the F nipple nogoshoulder
G selective tool holds the down facing dogsretracted
Upon location of nipple pick up, up facing dogslocate the profile, half jar up shears C1 pins andreleases down facing dogs locking device in nipple

To pull the device, an A or AC probe must be used
attached to the pulling tool The probe releases the up facing dogs
After equalization, jar up or over pull to release thedevice
E selective tool holds all dogs retracted, allows forpassing of same sized F nipples, pins on running toolshear to release the upper dogs and setting is as peron previous tools

Standard equipment did not meet pressure rating needs of
the industry New system needed hence Surset was developed
New nipples developed that included pressure ratings
Retain F and R nogo positioning
A 15K
New nipples became AF, HF, VF, AR, HR and VR

Locks made to match nipples hence AF went into an
AF nipple, of VR lock matched a VR nipple
Only two equalizing devices use H prong and M melon (sometimes known as R)
One running tool (model A) to run all locks
Can be pulled with Baker M (Otis GS)
