A box of mouth-watering vegan baking mixes delivered straight to your door

We love deliveries. There is something so exciting about coming home to a package labelled just for you. So when you open the arrival to discover a whole box of beautifully designed baking mixes just waiting to be created, your day is instantly made. What is this gorgeous parcel we recently received? Glad you asked. It is The Bake Box by Bake Mixes, a great Aussie company located in Eltham, Victoria, and it is filled with four vegan baking mixes. Why do we love vegan baking mixes? Well, obviously they are great for vegans, but they are also stress free for anyone living with dairy or egg allergies. The company only uses organic ingredients free from animal products, and aluminium-free baking powder. It is fantastic to know that what you are putting in your body is free from anything nasty.

The best thing about The Bake Box is that it includes samples of the Banana and Cinnamon Muffin Mix, the Cacao-chip Chia and Oat Cookies Mix, the Cacao-chip Muesli Bar Mix and the Raw-Cacao Bliss Balls Mix. This way, you can try four out of the five products the company sells, decide which ones you love the best and order your favourites again! It gives you an over-view of the company’s philosophy and generously sized samples to try.

It can be tricky baking without dairy and eggs, to say the least. Seriously, the number of failed muffin and cake batches I’ve attempted doesn’t bear thinking about! Anyway, we love it when it when the process is simplified. All you need on hand to whip up these vegan recipes is coconut oil and maple syrup or honey, plus a few other ingredients. Each mix varies slightly in the process and necessary ingredients, but all of them are fast, straightforward, and easy to follow.

On to the most important thing- the taste test!

The Cacao-chip Chia and Oat CookiesVegan, Dairy Free, Egg FreeThese delicious cookies were our absolute favourites. They only require the addition of coconut oil plus the milk of your choice and BAM you have to-die-for cookies! The cookies include goodies such as chia seeds, almond meal and coconut sugar, and little bites of cacao deliciousness. They hit the perfect note between healthy and sweet, have a great texture and remain soft and chewy long after baking.

The Cacao-chip Muesli BarsVegan, dairy free, egg free and nut free (but processed in a facility that han-dles nuts)The muesli bars are slightly crunchy, but also chewy and soft. They are filled with goodies such as coconut, oat flour, puffed buckwheat and sweet additions such as cacao chips. These are so much better for you than traditional muesli bars you will find on the supermarket shelves.

The Banana and Cinnamon Muffin MixVegan, Dairy Free, Egg Free, Gluten FreeThese muffins are flavoursome, sweet and easy to make. Simply add mashed bananas, pure maple syrup or honey and the milk of your choice. They rose well in the oven, are light in texture and freeze well if you can’t get through them all in a few days. Raw-Cacao Bliss Balls MixVegan, Dairy Free, Egg Free, Gluten FreeThese no-bake bliss balls are rich, decadent and full of flavour. They only require the addition of medjool dates and coconut oil, are then mixed in a food processor, rolled into balls and refrigerated. We did find the mixture needed a little more water or coconut oil to bind than the recipes states, but this is easily resolved. Once in the fridge, the balls bind together well and keep their shape. We rolled ours in coconut and chia seeds for extra goodness.

Overall we loved these products. They are seriously easy to make, taste divine and we love supporting local companies. These baking mixes are far better than any you will find in a supermarket, the flavours themselves are actually interesting to eat and you know that you are

only feeding yourself and your family healthy products. The Bake Box sells for $29.95 plus shipping, while individual larger bake mixes sell for $14.94 plus shipping. The Bake Box produces an abundance of treats to enjoy, and we are sure you will love them all.
