informative indicators on demand of Bahawalpur

Chamber of Commerce and Industries (BCCI). It might

help the Readers/Potential Investors and mainly to the

mentors of the State Bank of Pakistan to know the

importance of Bahawalpur district a Business hub.

Preface

“Bahawalpur District Profile” is ultimately a pre-investment study complied for the potential

investors and primarily for the mentors of the State Bank of Pakistan. As pre-investment studies of

a district give a detailed statistical figures about its Agriculture system, Banking & Finance, Climate,

Demographical, District Administration, Education, Geographical, Health, Industrialization and

other informative indicators of the region.

In past, pre-investment studies for the districts in the Punjab were first published by the Directorate

of Industries and Mineral Development, Punjab in the year 1979, with the prime objective of

providing data which might interest private entrepreneurs and the framers of the Provincial and

National Strategies in the industrial sector.

Later on, series of Pre-investment Studies for all districts of Punjab were published. We used them

as our secondary data to compiled district profile of Bahawalpur. This study fundamentally updates

the information contained in the series of district pre-investment studies. Efforts have been made to

provide latest information collected through published sources, offices of the respective Government

Departments/Agencies, and District Offices of Industries Department and specially get latest and

upgraded information through Bahawalpur Chamber of Commerce (BCCI).

The information has been updated in respect of population, manpower, production of agriculture

crops, fruits, vegetables, livestock, forest resources, ores/minerals, infrastructural facilities such as

technical/vocational training facilities, communication net-work, sub-soil water quality/effluent

disposal facilities, power/gas supply, telecommunication facilities, industrial estates, dry ports,

industrial financing facilities, etc.

The study also includes information regarding existing industrial pattern, industry wise installed

capacities and details regarding existing major industrial units in Bahawalpur region.

Special efforts has been made to identify various industries considering the availability of raw

materials, skilled labor, linkage between industrial units and local/national/international demand.

The suggested industries are, however, merely of indicative nature and it is advisable that respective

investors should conduct detailed feasibility report before making final decision for investment.

Moreover, this profile also provides key insights of the Bahawalpur district by incorporating

outcomes of various published research reports/articles.

Bahawalpur City

Pakistan is blessed with special blessing of nature. Pakistan has different cities which have

very rich culture and heritage. One of the amazing City of Pakistan is “Bahawalpur”. It is

12th largest city of Pakistan, famous for his Palaces, Historical places, Nawab’s & Prominent

Educational Institutes. It is former princely state in Pakistan. The imposing forts, magnificent

palaces and the shrines of Uch are a living testimony to the grandeur of Cholistan, in the

Punjab.

Bahawalpur City is not an ancient one but possess glorious traditions. It was established

about 200 years back by Nawab Bahawal Khan I as a capital of the Bahawalpur State. It

enjoyed this status till 1954 when the state was abolished to form one unit.

In Bahawalpur one can find the best educational, health, administrative and judicial

institutions. It has become a Mega city in terms of Real Estate, Parks, Markets and

Institutions. The glorious palaces in the city enhances its beauty. Above all the clean and

peaceful environment of the city has made it worth living and growing.

Bahawalpur for Tourist

Derawar Fort:

Derawar fort is located 48 km from Dera Nawab sahib. It is still in good condition. The rampart

walls are intact and still guarded by personal guards of Ameer of Bahawalpur. The tombs of the ex-

rulers of Bahawalpur and their families are located in this fort. The tomb has a nice glazed blue tile

work. Prior permission of senior Ameer of Bahawalpur is required to enter the fort.

Cholistan:

Cholistan is locally known as Rohi. This famous desert is 30 km from Bahawalpur and comprises

of an area of 16000 sq.km which extends up to Thar Desert extending over to Sindh. The word

Cholistan is derived from ‘cholna’ which means moving. The people of Cholistan lead a semi-

nomadic life moving from one place to another in search of water and fodder for their animals. This

is a place to watch specially people enjoy camel riding here.

Uch Sharif:

Uch has associated by some

authorities with one of the

many Alexandrias built by

Alexander on his way down

the Indus in 325 B.C Arrian,

the military historian

wirting in 2nd century AD,

records that Alexander

ordered a city to build at the confluence of the two rivers, imagining that by the advantage of such a

situation, it would become rich and prosperous. The of this city sent to Alexander 100 brave and noble

men as hostages besides 500 war chariots with their drivers and horses fully caparisoned. Alexander was

so touched by this gesture that he retured the hostage, but not charitosts. In the century Uch was part of

Kingdom of the barhmin ruler chach (who may or may not invented chess), and then fell to the Arab

invader Muhammad Bin Qasim in 712 after a sledge of seven days. Religious people from all over the

Pakistan often visit Uch Sharif.

Noor Mahal

Noor Mahal the italian style palace of the fifth ruler of Bahawalpur State, Nawab Sir Muhammad

Sadiq, is the latest monument in the Punjab to be notified under the Antiquities Act.

Noor Mahal was built in the middle of a spacious garden having a water tank and fountains. Thick

carpets covered its verandahs and the walls were decorated with paintings, most of them by western

artists.

a rich collection of arms in

its armory. Some swords

and muskets were also

displayed on the palace walls.

Gulzar Palace

On 19th of May, 1904 Nawab

Bahawal Khan (v) approved

to establish some more

palaces including Gulzar

Palace. Nishat Palace and

Farukh Palace which are the

most famous palaces of them

all. Darbar Mahal and Gulzar

Mahal are based on beautiful

buildings having too many

colors.

Bahawalpur Zoo

Bahawalpur zoo was set up

in 1942 by the former

Aamir of Bahawalpur in

1955 after the adjacency of

the state of Bahawalpur

with Pakistan the

administration of the Zoo

was entrusted to the

department of Agriculture from 1977 to 1982 the zoological garden remained under the governance

of the Department of the Live Stock Punjab.

Lal Suhanra National Park

Lal Suhanra is 36 km (22 miles)

north-east of Bahawalpur. The

park was developed in 1972, is the

home of many animals and birds,

including the rare chinkara gazelle

and plentiful wild boar.

Bahawalpur City of Knowledge and Education

The Islamia University of Bahawalpur was founded in 1925, named “Jamia Abbasia” following the

academic pursuits of Jamia Al-Azhar, Egypt.JamiaAbbasia was declared as a general university in 1975.

Govt. S.E College Bahawalpur is counted among the oldest colleges of Asia. Its history consists on 125

years. This institution was founded in 1886.

His Highness Sir Sadiq Mohammad Khan Abbasi, the Ameer of Bahawalpur laid the foundation

stone of Sadiq Pubic School on 4th March 1953; provided 450 acres of land and financed the entire

construction cost.

And there are lot more institute which help people of this city to take light of education.

History of Bahawalpur Bahawalpur City was founded in 1748 by Nawab

Bahawal Khan Abbasi I, whose descendants ruled

the area until it joined Pakistan in 1954. The

princely state of Bahawalpur was one of the largest

states of British India and was last ruled by Nawab

Sir Sadiq Khan Abbasi V, who decided to join

Pakistan after its independence. Bahawalpur City

was formerly the capital of the state and now is the

District and Divisional Headquarters of

Bahawalpur Division. The royal house of Bahawalpur is said to be of Arabic origin and claims

descent from Abbas, progenitor of the Abbasid Caliphs of Baghdad and Cairo.

The Abbasi family ruled the State for more than 200 years (1748 to 1954). During the rule of the

last Nawab Sir Sadiq Khan Abbasi V, Bahawalpur State was merged with Pakistan in 1954. Nawab

family was however given special privileges by the government of Pakistan. Bahawalpur is one of

the largest districts of the Punjab covering an area of 24,830 sq.km.

Geography The geography of the district can be divided into

three parts that is the riverine area, the plain area

and the desert. The riverine area lies close to the

river Sutlej which used to flows in the north along

its boundary with Lodhran and Vehari districts.

Most of the lands in this area have been brought

under cultivation. The desert, also known as

Cholistan, lies towards the south and east of the

irrigated track and north of the desert of Bikanir

and Jaisalmir in India. It extends along the entire

eastern boundary with the Bahawalnagar district in the north and Rahim Yar Khan district in the

south. The surface of the desert consists of a succession of sand dunes rising in some places to a

height of 150 meters. It is covered with the vegetation peculiar to the sandy tracks. The district is

situated almost in the center of the country at an elevation of 152 meters from the sea levels. The

district is bounded on north by Lodhran, Multan and Vehari districts, on the east by Bahawalnagar

district and India, on the south by India and on the west by Rahimyar Khan and Muzaffargarh

districts. Location of Bahawalpur City has made it an important stopover for the huge Karachi-

Peshawar traffic whether its train or road transport. The main railway track and the Highway that

connect north and south of the country touch the city and hence plays an important role in its

economy. Distance of major cities from Bahawalpur City is quite symmetrical; Peshawar is at 877

km in north, Karachi at 851 km in south, Lahore at 441 km in north and Larkana at 465 km in south,

while Multan is relatively nearer at 94 km only. Hunters used to find special attraction in Cholistan

and some other areas of the district as a wide variety of wild animals was found there. Some famous

were deer, black buck (Kala Hiran), Neel gai, sand grouse and quail.

Climate The climate of Bahawalpur district is extremely

hot and dry in summer and cold and dry in

winter. The summer season starts in April and

continues until October. May, June and July are

the hottest months. The mean maximum and

minimum temperatures during this period are 42

and 28 centigrade respectively. December,

January and February are the coldest months.

The mean maximum and minimum temperatures

for this period Bahawalpur are 22 and 6 centigrade respectively. The months of November, February

and March are pleasant. Dust storms are frequent during summer months. The annual precipitation

is 125-200 millimeters which usually occurs during monsoon months of July and August. Average

rainfall is less as the district is located at the tail end of monsoon region. The winter rains are received

in the month of January and sometimes in February.

Tehsils Bahawalpur district consists of five tehsils:

Bahawalpur, Ahmed Pur East, Yazman,

Khairpur Tamewal and Hasilpur. According to

the 1998 national census, the population of

Bahawalpur was 24, 33,091 compared to 14,

53,438 in 1981. The population grew by 67.4

percent in 17 years which indicates an average

annual growth rate of 3.07 percent. Propagated

at the national annual growth rate, the

population is calculated to be 29, 06,023 for 2007. The average household size in the district is 6.8

persons. The urban population was 27.3 percent of the total population in 1998. It grew at an average

rate of 4.21 percent during the 1981-98 period. The rate was 4.65 percent during 1972-81 period.

There are one Municipal Corporation, two Municipal Committees, one Cantonment and four Town

Committees. The towns are Bahawalpur, Ahmadpur East Hasilpur, Bahawalpur Cantt, Khairpur

Tamewali, Yazman, Samasatta, and Uch Sharif.

Population Bahawalpur is on 12th number among the largest cities

of Pakistan. 72.7 percent of the total population of the

district lived in rural areas at the time of 1998 census.

There were a total of 1,216 mauzas out of which 259

were un-inhabited. Villages are predominantly medium

sized as 65 percent of the total rural population lives in

the villages having 1000-5000 inhabitants. Only 71

villages have a population of more than 5,000. The

population of the district is predominantly Muslim who

constitutes 98.1 percent of the total population, with

almost equal proportions in rural and urban areas. The

most important among the minorities are Hindus who

are 0.9 percent in the district with larger concentration

at 1.1 percent in rural areas compared to 0.3 percent in urban areas. Christians make 0.6 percent of

the district population with a concentration in urban areas 1.4 percent as opposed to that of Hindus.

Presence of other minorities in the district, both in rural as well as urban areas, is quite insignificant.

Mother tongue Saraiki is mother tongue of the majority,

spoken by 48 out of every 100. The next

prominent group is of Punjabi speakers at 28

percent .Urdu speaking community is only 17

percent of the district's population, other

language are also spoken there contribution is

about 7 percent only.

Male & Female Population of male and female is not and has never been equal in most parts of the globe. Females

are naturally more in numbers, for a variety of reasons. United Nations figures tell us that there are

more females than males in 119 of the total 191 countries in the world. It is equal in 10 and female

population is less than that of males in the rest 62. In the developed countries like Europe, USA,

Australia and Japan, there are 105 women against every 100 men. The sex ratio is 102 in the poor

continent of Africa as well as in Latin America. In a sharp contrast, number of females is less than

that of males in China, South Asia and Middle East. Pakistan besides falling in the list of countries

with negative female to male ratio, is also one of the only four countries where life expectancy at

birth of females is less than that of males. In Pakistan, female population per hundred male

population is 92. Situation is worst in Balochistan where the ratio is 87, while it is 89 in Sindh, 93

in Punjab and 95 in NWFP

Livelihood has very rarely been a subject for any scientific research despite its utmost importance.

The need to initiate such work was absolutely necessary, as the traditional livelihood sources are

rapidly depleting. This situation has pushed a large portion of population, especially those who have

been associated with agriculture and traditional sources of earning in rural areas. They are left

stranded as far as their livelihood sources are concerned. This factor contributes substantial rise in

poverty. The situation is particularly affecting the landless and the farmers with small land holdings

and rural workers. The women farmers and tillers belonging to religious minorities are the worst

affected as they were solely dependent on traditional modes of earning. In this scenario the work in

hand is a commendable task undertaken and completed by the writers. It is a wonderful effort in the

right direction. The work definitely provides a basis for further research on livelihood sources. There

is not only occasional analysis included in the profile but the facts and figures provided also stimulate

the reader to build up different analysis. The report very clearly shows how the nature and

availability of livelihood sources can have effects on poverty and poor people.

GEOGRAPHICAL CONDITIONS

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DISTRICT

Bahawalnagar and Rahimyar Khan District form its boundaries in the East and West respectively,

while Lodhran and Vehari districts are situated in the North across the river Sutlej, which flows from

North-East to North-West. On the South and South- East the district forms the international Border

with India. District Bahawalpur is spread over an area of 24,830 square kilometers, comprising

five tehsils of:

i) Bahawalpur Sadar

ii) Bahawalpur City

iii) Hasilpur

iv) Khairpur Tamewali

v) Yazman

vi) Ahmadpur East

CLIMATE AND GENERAL SOIL CONDITIONS

District Bahawalpur has very hot and dry climate in summer, dry and cold in winter. The maximum

temperature rises to 48ºC while the minimum temperature falls to 7ºC. Wind and dust storms are

frequent during the summer. The average annual rain-fall in the district is 168 mm.

The district may be divided into three parts. These are the riverine area, the irrigated area and the

desert area. The riverain area lies close to the river Sutlej, which flows in the North along its

boundary with Lodhran and Vehari districts. The area is inundated during floods. The irrigated tract

is higher than the riverain area. Most of the land has been brought under cultivation. The desert area

is known as Cholistan. It lies to the south and East of the irrigated tract and North of the desert of

Bikanir and Jaisalmir in India. It extends along the entire Eastern boundary of Bahawalnagar district

in the North and Rahimyar Khan district in the South. The surface of the desert consists of a

succession of sand dunes rising in places to a height of 150 meters. It is covered with the vegetation

peculiar to the sandy tracts.

According to Punjab Development Statistics 2011, total population of Bahawalpur district is 3,277

thousand persons out of which 1,737 thousand are males and 1,540 thousand are females. Density

of population in the district is 132 persons per square Kilometer.

MAN POWER AVAILABILITY

As regards availability of skilled labor, there are more than 20 technical / commercial / vocational

institutions imparting training in various trades e.g. chemical, electrical, auto engineering, welding,

wood working and commerce. Vocational institutions for women impart training in hand/machine

embroidery, stitching and knitting. In all about 5,825 technicians/artisans/workers are trained every

year. The details are given in Table-2.

TRADITIONAL CRAFTS

Making of delicate and decorated earthenware is one of the traditional crafts of the district. These

earthenware’s display the skill of the artisans who are concentrated in the Tehsil of Ahmedpur East.

Decorated lampshades and flower-vases are also made from camel skin in some parts of the district.

Hand embroidery work on shirts is yet another specialty of the area. Other crafts include Basket

Making, Mukesh Work, Gota Work, Cholistani Aplec work, cotton and Woollen Durries, Patch

Work, etc. The families engaged in the profession are spread all over the district.

FORESTS

Location of Forests and Area under Afforestation

An area of 34,624.5 Acres is under forest, which is about 0.56% of the total area of the district.

There is also linear plantation of 2,514.28 Km alongside the roads/rails/canals in the district. Trees

grown in the area include Shisham, Mulberry, Babul and Eucalyptus.

The production of Timber and Fire-Wood in the district during the period 2008-09 to 2010-11 is

As per Punjab Development Statistics 2011, there are 444 broiler and 28 layer poultry farms in the

district having rearing capacity of 9541 and 180 thousand birds respectively.

Availability of Hides / Skins and Slaughter House Wastes

As per Punjab Development Statistics 2011, 98000 animals were slaughtered in recognized / un-

recognized slaughter houses in the district during the year 2009-10, which is a fair estimate of the

availability of hides and skins in the district.

COMMUNICATION NETWORK

Road Links

The district has metalled road-length of 2,579.87 Kilometres. The district is linked with Lodhran,

Bahawalnagar, Vehari and Rahimyar Khan Districts through metalled road.

Rail Links

The main Peshawar-Karachi railway line passes through Bahawalpur District. The district is linked

with Rahim Yar Khan, Hasilpur and Lodhran through railway network.

GENERAL QUALITY AND AVAILABILITY OF SUB-SOIL WATER

The sub soil water is generally suitable for industrial use.

EFFLUENT DISPOSAL FACILITIES

Since most of the industrial activity consists of cotton ginning and oil mills, no serious effluent

disposal problems exist at present. However, if some effluent generating industries are established

in the district then effluent can be discharged into sem-nullah / river with permission from Irrigation

and Power Department, Government of the Punjab.

POWER SUPPLY

There are 10 grid stations in the district, ranging in capacity from 66 KV to 220 KV.

NATURAL GAS AVAILABILITY

Natural gas is available in Ahmedpur East, Uch-Sharif, Khanqah-Sharif, Hasilpur, Mubarakpur,

Dera Nawab and Bahawalpur City.

TELE-COMMUNICATION FACILITIES

There are 41 telephone exchanges operating in the district, ranging in capacities from 250 lines to

10,000 lines. Cellular phone services are available in the district.

The Punjab Small Industries Corporation has established an Industrial Estate at Bahawalpur. A total

determined by a District Committee after consultation with all stake-holders in light of general

policy guidelines issued by the Industries, Commerce & Investment Department and exemptions

allowed under Schedule ‘B’ of this Notification as under:

“Other small industrial undertakings” would mean an industrial undertaking in which the total fixed

assets (including the cost of land) do not exceed Rs.1.0 million (Rupees one million).

No industrial unit mentioned in Schedule ‘C’ of this Notification shall be set up anywhere in the

Punjab without prior approval of the Government.

The Government reserves the right to refuse establishment / enhancement of any industrial

undertaking which is in contravention of the public interest, ecology or any other law / rules for

the time being in force.

The Government may relax any of the provisions of this notification in case of a particular unit

or industry or class of units or industries.

NOC from Environment Protection Department, Govt. of the Punjab is required for setting up

new Industries.

Tourism has been given the status of industry in accordance with Ministry of Industries &

Production Circular No. 1-129/99-INV-IV dated 2nd August 1999.

The Housing and Construction Sector has also been declared as industry (Finance Division

Notification No. 10(10)/IF-11/98, dated 07.04.1999 and 04.06.1999.

In accordance with Government notification No. 3(2)/97-INV-IV dated 05.05.1997, Computer

Software and Information Technology (IT) have been declared as Industry.

DECLARATION OF SPECIFIED POSITIVE AREAS

Vide the Finance Act, 2008, the Government of Pakistan has enacted a new section “23A” in the

Income Tax Ordinance 2001. The Section “23A” is reproduced below:-

“First year allowance. - (1) Plant, Machinery and equipment installed by any industrial

undertaking setup in specified rural and under developed areas, and owned and managed

by a company shall be allowed first year allowance in lieu of initial allowance under Section

23 at the rate specified in Part II of the third schedule against the cost of the “eligible

depreciable assets” put to use after July 1st, 2008.

(2) The provision of Section 23 except sub-sections (1) and (2), thereof, shall mutatis

mutandis apply.

The Federal Government may notify “Specified areas” for the purpose of sub-section (1)”

Besides the financial institutions mentioned above a number of Leasing Companies, Modaraba

Companies, Investment Banks are also providing financing facilities to the industrial sector. Punjab

Small Industries Corporation also extends financial assistance to the small/cottage industrial units.

SALIENT FEATURES OF LOANING SCHEME OF PSIC

Punjab Small Industries Corporation (PSIC) is a body corporate enacted in 1973. One of core

functions of PSIC is financial assistance programme for prospective entrepreneurs, skilled youth,

artisans and craftsmen all over the Punjab. The priority sectors are as under:

1. Service Industries.

2. Agro / Agro Support Industries.

3. Food Processing Industries.

4. Export Oriented Industries.

5. Import Substitution Industries.

6. Information Technology (IT) Project.

7. Handicraft Industry.

8. Women Enterprises.

PSIC started credit assistance program during 1984 and completed 13 schemes up till now. An

amount of PRs. 4079 Million has been disbursed to 19,580 entrepreneurs in 36 Districts of Punjab

with the recovery rate of 88% that indicates proper utilization of loans.

The maximum loan limit is Rs.3 Million with debit equity ratio of 60:40. The credit assistance

facility available for new projects, BMR and Working Capital. The markup rate varies from 0% to

12%.

The repayment period of loan is from 3 years to 6 years with grace period of 3 months to 6 months.

Recently, Government of Punjab has provided an amount of Rs. 2000 Million for disbursement

through Service Provider Organization i.e. M/s Akhuwat to un-employed and skilled persons of

PVTC, TEVTA, SANATZAR’s of Social Welfare Department or other unemployed youth having

good business plan.

Up till now, M/s Akhuwat has disbursed an amount of Rs. 1650.00 Million to 94,960 poor household

in 33 vocations with average loan size of Rs. 17,382 in Punjab through its 142 offices in 30 districts

To promote the traditional handicrafts in Punjab, PSIC has also launched dedicated credit assistance

schemes for the craftsmen at subsidized markup rates. These craftsmen have also been provided

marketing facilities through Pakistan Handicrafts Shops.

Future Industrial Potential

Keeping in view the availability of raw-material, skilled labor, industrial units, local / national /

international demand, future industrial potential of district Bahawalpur is discussed hereunder:- It

would, however, be kept in mind that though the above mentioned factors facilitate the success of

any industrial unit, yet the entire success depends upon the investors / entrepreneurs and the

capabilities of the personnel having the managerial control. Therefore, it is advisable that detailed

feasibility of industrial project must be carried out before making final decision for investment.

AGRICULTURE

Main crops and fruit of the district are cotton, wheat, sugarcane, Rape/Mustard Seeds, mango, citrus

Guava and date. The average annual production of cotton over the period 2008-11 was 1095.66

thousand bales and of remaining crops/fruits i.e. Wheat, Sugarcane, Rape/Mustard Seed, Mango,

Citrus, Date and Guava was 876, 739.66, 16.2, 49.95, 52, 2.93 and 2.29 thousand M.Tons

respectively. At present, seven textile spinning mills, one sugar mills, 39 flour mills, a number of

cotton ginning/pressing factories and oil expelling units are already operating in the district.

In view of the above, there seems little scope for more flour mills and another sugar mill due to

limited production of wheat and sugarcane. However, there exists wide scope for cotton based

industries i.e. textile spinning, weaving, processing/printing. More solvent oil extraction plants can

be established as besides cotton seed, cotton oil cake and Rape/Mustard seeds can also be used as

raw material.

Besides, fruit juice, pickles, squashes and dates processing / packing units possess good prospects.

In addition, Dates based vinegar unit can also be established.

LIVESTOCK

As per Livestock and Dairy Development, the population of cattle, buffaloes, sheep and goats was

666, 708, 170 and 1199 thousand heads respectively. The annual availability of hides and skins is

estimated at 98000 pieces. As regards poultry, there are 444 broiler and 28 layer poultry farms having

rearing capacity of 9541 and 180 thousand birds, respectively.

There is already three Feed Mills operating in the district, which leaves little scope for additional

unit. However, a leather products unit and a hatchery/breeding poultry farm can be established.

Besides, estimated production of wool i.e. about 170 M. Tons annually reflect good potential for

wool processing and weaving unit.

Forest

District Bahawalpur possesses vast forest potential. An area of about 34624.5 Acres is under forest.

The annual average production of timber and fire wood over the period 2008-11 was 24.46 and 72.36

thousand cubic meter respectively. Therefore, there exist good prospects for wood seasoning /

processing units and modern furniture units.

Industry

In view of developing textile industry, oil expelling and solvent extraction plants in the district, there

seems bright scope for paper cones unit and sizing units.

Demand Based Industries

There seems good prospects for consumer products manufacturing industries i.e. shoemaking,

biscuits and confectionery, hosiery and knitting unit, readymade garments, aluminum utensils,

melamine tableware, etc.
