BAD BOYS 2 ANALYSIS

The use of endorsement is used in order to create excitement in the film and to build the audience of the film. This is why these two scenes have been edited in order to add more attention to celebrities who are the film and the director of the film. People who are fans of these people are likely to watch the film.

A midshot of is used in order for us to see the full pose of the character. This is because it helps us as an audience to see the action and to see the two guns in the characters hands. It also links to male gaze theory as the character looks cool and relaxed whilst shooting at people. This therefore links to the theory as being masculine is usually associated with been strong without even trying. Therefore it links to what the male viewers are aspiring to be and what the female partners want them to be like.

A close up of the female is used in order for us to see the facial expression of the character. It helps the target audience to feel the emotion of the character rather than just witness it and builds anticipation. It also links to Vladimir's Propps theory as the female in the scene is the damsel in the distress and we therefore wonder who is going to help the her and whether they’re going to be successful in helping her.

Lowkey lighting is used in this scene in order for the target audience to understand the scene and make them aware of the surroundings. As we can see both of the characters look defeated and we can therefore see that they failed to achieve the mission they had been given. This effects the mood of the target audience and make them more empathetic towards the actions in the film.

A point of view shot is used in this scene in order for us to see the two characters in the perspective of the other person in the room. However it could be said, that this links to synthetic personalization as well because the target audience feels like the two characters are actually talking to them rather than talking to the other person in the scene. This therefore adds excitement.
