What to expect from your baby at this age: » They will start to explore and learn new skills
» They will be able to use their hands to hold objects, grab more than one object and change hands
» They can stand up by themselves with help
» They can pull themselves up to sit
» They will start to walk with help.

Tips for mum and dad: » Let your baby explore under careful watch
» Talk with your baby and name different body parts, objects and places
» Let your baby feed themselves. Let them taste different foods.

Activities for your baby: » Play hide-and-seek
» Put toys on tables and let your baby practice standing and walking
» Play with big puzzle pieces, ball games or clap hands together.
Talk to your doctor or child health nurse if your baby: » Doesn’t respond to their name or makes sounds
» Can’t hold objects or pick up objects using their hands
» Can’t stand alone or can’t walk without help
» Doesn’t make eye contact or facial expressions with other people.
