ELC301 Engineering Mathematics –III (EM-III)

In this course, students will be provided the requisite and relevant background necessary to understand other important engineering mathematics

courses offered in higher semesters. The students will be introduced Laplace transforms which is very useful for signal processing and communication

engineering. The area of Complex Analysis will also be introduced to students which will be useful in further studies and competitive examinations

like GRE, GATE and civil services. The areas like Probability, sampling theory and testing of Hypothesis will be explored for further business and

engineering techniques. The students will be able to gain basic and advanced knowledge of set theory, relations and functions which is useful for

solving many engineering problems. The basic concepts and techniques of Linear Algebra will be explored in this course. These techniques are very

useful in recent trends of industry.


ELC302 Electronic Devices and Circuits (EDC)

This course has been designed primarily as a core course for undergraduate students. It starts with basic circuit components and circuit concepts and

then, gradually moves to practical building blocks of analog electronic systems. In this course, a serious attempt has been made to make a balance

between theory and practice so that the discussed circuits can be constructed in an undergraduate level laboratory class and their measured

performance can be easily compared with the analytically predicted performance.


ELC303 Digital Design (DD)

Digital circuits are the basic blocks of modern electronic devices like mobile phones, digital cameras, microprocessors and several other devices.

Digital circuits are part of any electronic design today. This also happens to be one of the core subjects for the undergraduate students in Electronics

Engineering. It forms the basis of many of the next level courses. This course on digital circuits will cover all the fundamental concepts in digital

design.




ELC304 Electrical Network Analysis and Synthesis (ENAS)

Electrical circuits are everywhere, from tiny ones in integrated circuits in mobile phones and music players, to giant ones that carry power to our

homes. This course deals with analysis techniques that can be applied to all such circuits. After completion of this course, one should be able to

analyze any linear circuit.


ELC305 Principles of Control Systems (PCS)

This course shall introduce the fundamentals of modeling and control of linear time invariant systems; primarily from the classical viewpoint of

Laplace transforms and a brief emphasis on the state space formulation as well. The course will be useful for students from major streams of

engineering to build foundations of time/frequency analysis of systems as well as the feedback control of such systems.

ELC401 Engineering Mathematics-IV

ELC402 Linear Integrated Circuits (LIC)

This course is aimed to provide exposure on applications of op-amps and its importance in the real world. Since analog circuits play a crucial role in

the implementation of an electronic system, this course emphasis on complete system design with initial discussion on circuit design. As part of this

course student will be able to understand feedback techniques and its advantages, and also able to design amplifiers, converters, filters and oscillators

using Op-Amps.


ELC403 Microcontroller and Applications

Microprocessors are used extensively in the design of any computing facility. It contains units to carry out arithmetic and logic calculations, fast

storage in terms of registers and associated control logic to get instructions from memory and execute them. Initially, an overview of 8085

microprocessor will be covered. Later, microcontroller 8051 will be discussed. Then, the interfacing of 8051 with several peripherals such as LED,

LCD, Seven Segment display, stepper motor, and Relay will be covered.




ELC404 Discrete Time Signal Processing (DTSP)

This course will introduce to the basics of discrete-time sequences, z-transform, frequency response of discrete-time systems, sampling, and the DFT.

This course further emphasis on designing of Infinite Impulse Response Filters, Finite Impulse Response Filters .It also cover DSP Processors and

Applications.


ELC405 Electronics Instruments and measurements (EIM)

The content of this course is divided into has two halves: First is Electrical Measurements which includes working principle and Dynamics of

different electro-mechanical instruments, ammeter, voltmeter, ohmmeter, wattmeter, energy meter, measurement of resistance and impedances,

bridges and potentiometers, Instrument transformers. Second is Electronic Instruments which includes electrical indicating instruments, digital

instruments, digital display methods, digital display unit. Segmental Displays: Seven segmental display, dot matrices, LED, LCD, decade counting

assemblies, display systems and Recorders.

ELC501 Advanced Microcontrollers

This subject focuses on the study of advanced microcontroller along with the use of microcontroller. It also briefs the students about interfacing of

memory and various I/O devices like A to D converter, D to A converter LED, LCD to advanced microcontrollers. The students learn the

Programming language (Embedded C) used for microcontrollers. This course will provide an understanding of ARM Cortex-M3, NVIC, Memory

Management Unit of ARM Cortex-M3.

ELC503 Fundamentals of VLSI (FVLSI)

This is a Fundamental course which covers basic theories and techniques of digital VLSI design in CMOS technology. In this course, we will study

the fundamental concepts and structures of designing digital VLSI systems include CMOS devices and circuits, standard CMOS fabrication

processes, CMOS design rules, static and dynamic logic structures interconnect analysis, CMOS chip layout, simulation and testing, low power

techniques, design tools and methodologies, VLSI architecture.

Syllabus deals with understanding analog and digital communication techniques. It Covers data and pulse communication techniques and focuses on

the study of source and Error control coding. It gives knowledge on multi-user radio communication, Use data and pulse communication techniques,

The focus of the course is design using data structures. After this course, the student will be able to analyze the difference between the choice of

different data structures for a given programming task. The student will be able to write programs involving different data structures, and also

appreciate the value of asymptotic analysis of data structure set-up times, maintenance times and space used. The course will enable students to have a

mathematical approach for Analysis of Algorithms and they would be able to solve problems using various strategies. They will be able to analyse

ELC601 Robotics

This course emphasis on Robotics which involves the conception, design, manufacture, and operation of robots. This field overlaps with electronics,

computer science, artificial intelligence, mechatronics, nanotechnology and bioengineering. Robots must never harm human beings. A robot is a

reprogrammable, multifunctional manipulator designed to move material, parts, tools or specialized devices through variable programmed motions for

the performance of a variety of tasks.


ELDLO6014 Mixed Signal VLSI Design

This course emphasis on analog design of integrated circuit technology. The functionality of electronics equipments and gadgets has achieved a

phenomenal growth over the last two decades while their physical sizes and weights have come down drastically. The major reason is due to the rapid

advances in integration technologies, which enables fabrication of millions of transistors in a single Integrated Circuit (IC) or chip. IC (used

interchangeably with “chip” in this course) is a device having multiple transistors with interconnects manufactured on a single silicon substrate. This

course gives a trade offs in analog design, frequency analysis of single stage, differential, operational amplifiers.


ELDLO6024 IC Technology

A complex set of tiny components and their interconnections that are imprinted onto a tiny slice of semiconductor material (e.g silicon). Integrated

circuits are usually called ICs or chips. An IC is a small wafer, usually made of silicon, that can hold anywhere from hundreds to millions of

transistors, resistors, and capacitors. This course intends the processes involved in chip fabrication.

In its current usage, the term reconfigurable computing refers to some form of hardware programmability Hardware that can be customized using

some physical control points

Systems-on-Chip (SoCs) are at the core of most embedded computing and consumer devices, such as cell phones, media players and automotive,

aerospace or medical electronics. This course will provide an understanding of the concepts, issues, and process of designing highly integrated SoCs

ELDLO7064 ASIC verification

IC other than a general purpose IC which contain the functionality of thousands of gates is usually called an ASIC(Application Specific Integrated

Circuit). ASICs are designed to fit a certain application. An ASIC is a digital or mixed-signal circuit designed to meet specifications set by a specific

project. The goal is to specify the functional requirements for the design and define the external interfaces to the related designs.

deterministic and probability techniques for optimization and decision making. Linear and Integer Programming techniques will be introduced. At the

end of the course, students will have the skills to build their own formulations, to expand existing formulations, to critically evaluate the impact of

model assumptions and to choose an appropriate solution technique for solving real world problems.
