3. 1 EXAMINATION

A. Verify excavations under provisions of Section 01039.

B. Verify that excavations are to required grade, dry, and not over·excavated.

3 .2 PREPARATION

A. Remove scale and dirt, on inside and outside, before assembly.

B. Prepare piping connec tions to equipment with flanges or uni ons.

3.3 INSTALLATION

A. Install in accordance with manufactu rer's instructions.

B. Provide non-conducting dielectric connections wherever jointing dissimilar metals.

C. Route piping in orderly manner and maintain gradient.

D. Install piping to conserve building space and not interfere with use of space.

E. Group piping whenever practical at common elevations.

F. Install piping to allow for expansion and contraction without stressing pipe, joints, or connected equi pment.

G. Provide c learance for installation of insu lation and access to va lves and fiuings.

H. Provide access where valves and fiHings are not exposed.

I. Estab li sh elevations of buried piping outside the building to ensure not less than 5 n of cover.

3. PART 3 EXECUTION

3.1 INSPECTION

A. Review mi llwork shop drawings. Con firmlocatioll and size o f fixtures and openings before rough-in and installation.

B. Verify adjacent construction is ready to receive rough-in work of thi s Section.

3.2 INSTALLATION

A. Install each fixture wi th trap, easily removable for servicing and cleaning.

B. Provide chrome plated rigid or flexible supplies 10 fixtures with screwdri ver stops reducers, and escutcheons.

C. Install components level and plumb

D. Install and secure fixtures in place with wall supports and bolts.

E. Seal fixtures to wall and Ooor surfaces with sealant as specified in Section 07900, color to match fixture.

F. Furnish and install the fixtures shown on the plans and specified herei n. All metal trim on fi xtures and exposed piping at the fixtures shall be chromium plated with chromi um­plated escutcheons. All fixtures shall be securely bolted to the walls and noor in accordance with manufacturer's rough-in and setting requirements.

G. Provide chrome plated angle rigid supplies with stops at each fixture.

3.3 ADJUSTING AND CLEANING

A. Adjust stops or valves for intended wate r now rate to fixtures wi thollt splashing, noise, or overflow.

B. At completion clean plumbing fixture s and equipment.

C. Solidly attach water closets to floor with Jag screws. Lead flashing is not intended ho ld fixture in place.

D. Following installation and prior to use, thoroughly c lean all plumbing fi xtures, removing all st ickers, rust stains and any other matter or discoloration, leaving every fixture in good condition.
