1.7 REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS

C. Provide certificate of compliance from authority having juri sdiction indicating approval of installation of back now prevention devices.

1.8 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING

A. Deli ver, store, protect and handle products to site under provisions of Section 0 1600.

B. Accept valves on site in shipping containers with labeling in place. Inspect for damage.

C. Provide temporary protective coating on cast iron and steel va lves.

D. Provide temporary end caps and closures on piping and fittings. Mai ntain in place until installation.

E. Protect piping systems from entry of foreign materi als by temporary covers, completing sec tions of the work, and isolating parts of completed system.

1.9 ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

A. Do not install underground piping when bedding is wet or frozen.

3. 1 EXAMINATION

A. Verify excavations under provisions of Section 01039.

B. Verify that excavations are to required grade, dry, and not over·excavated.

3 .2 PREPARATION

A. Remove scale and dirt, on inside and outside, before assembly.

B. Prepare piping connec tions to equipment with flanges or uni ons.

3.3 INSTALLATION

A. Install in accordance with manufactu rer's instructions.

B. Provide non-conducting dielectric connections wherever jointing dissimilar metals.

C. Route piping in orderly manner and maintain gradient.

D. Install piping to conserve building space and not interfere with use of space.

E. Group piping whenever practical at common elevations.

F. Install piping to allow for expansion and contraction without stressing pipe, joints, or connected equi pment.

G. Provide c learance for installation of insu lation and access to va lves and fiuings.

H. Provide access where valves and fiHings are not exposed.

I. Estab li sh elevations of buried piping outside the building to ensure not less than 5 n of cover.

J. Where pipe support members are welded to structural building framing, scrape, brush clean, and app ly one coat of zinc ri ch primer to welding.

K. Provide support for utility meters in accordance with requirements of utility compani es.

L. Prepare pipe, fittings, supports, and accessories not pre-fini shed, ready for fini sh painting. Refer to Section 09900.

M. Excavate in accordance with Sections 02222 and 02225 for work of thi s Section.

N. Backfi II in accordance with Sections 02223 and 02225 for work of this Section.

O. Install bell and spigot pipe with bell end upstream.

R. Connections between ferrou s and non-ferrous metallic pipe installed underground and connections to water heaters shall be made with dielectric unions or tlanges specified herein.

C. Trim: ANSI A 11 2. 18.1; chrome plated combination supply fitting with pop-up waste, water economy aerator, single lever handle, chrome plated 17 gage (1.3 mm) brass P-trap with clean-out plug and arm with escutcheon.

3. PART 3 EXECUTION

3.1 INSPECTION

A. Review mi llwork shop drawings. Con firmlocatioll and size o f fixtures and openings before rough-in and installation.

B. Verify adjacent construction is ready to receive rough-in work of thi s Section.

3.2 INSTALLATION

A. Install each fixture wi th trap, easily removable for servicing and cleaning.

B. Provide chrome plated rigid or flexible supplies 10 fixtures with screwdri ver stops reducers, and escutcheons.

C. Install components level and plumb

D. Install and secure fixtures in place with wall supports and bolts.

E. Seal fixtures to wall and Ooor surfaces with sealant as specified in Section 07900, color to match fixture.

F. Furnish and install the fixtures shown on the plans and specified herei n. All metal trim on fi xtures and exposed piping at the fixtures shall be chromium plated with chromi um­plated escutcheons. All fixtures shall be securely bolted to the walls and noor in accordance with manufacturer's rough-in and setting requirements.

G. Provide chrome plated angle rigid supplies with stops at each fixture.

H. Mount fixtures to the following heights above finished floor:

3.3 ADJUSTING AND CLEANING

A. Adjust stops or valves for intended wate r now rate to fixtures wi thollt splashing, noise, or overflow.

B. At completion clean plumbing fixture s and equipment.

C. Solidly attach water closets to floor with Jag screws. Lead flashing is not intended ho ld fixture in place.

D. Following installation and prior to use, thoroughly c lean all plumbing fi xtures, removing all st ickers, rust stains and any other matter or discoloration, leaving every fixture in good condition.
