Transition Program:

Over the last few weeks Mrs Johnson has been running a transition program for next year’s Prep class. 9 students have been attending the school on a regular basis to learn the routines for next year.

Thank you to all the parents that are attending with the students and we look forward to working with you next year.

Staffing 2019:

As you may be aware, the teachers in the primary school are all on transfer or leave for next year.

Replacement teachers for next year are: Miss Hayley Jones, Miss Rachel Willman, Miss Teagen Davis and Miss Kayla Gunn.

Class allocation has not occurred yet and this will e in next week’s newsletter.

School Behaviour Focus:

Throughout the year teachers will be focussing on specific behaviours in their classrooms in relation to our “Be” rules.

This week’s focus is “Be Responsible.” Students are asked to be prepared for class at the beginning of the day and fol-lowing every break.

Weekly Attendance Rate:

The attendance rate for Week 7, Term 4 was 86.8%. I encourage parents to notify the school of student absence as soon as possible on each school day. Parents it would be beneficial to provide a doctor’s certificate for absences longer than 3 days.

Parents you must notify the school of the reason for your child’s absence. If the school is not notified we are re-quired by legislation to telephone you. If your child is going to have a prolonged absence you need to contact the school regarding this.

FUN SWIMMING CARNIVAL (WEATHER PERMITTING)

Their will be a fun swimming carnival next Wednesday the 5th December which will run for the morning session.

Students are to assemble at school as normal and will walk

To the pool with there class when the bell goes.

When finished all students will return back to school to

Continue with the normal school day.

Parents and Visitors are welcome to come and watch.

SCHOOL NEWS

NUDE FOOD DAY EVERY WEDNESDAY

All students are encouraged to participate in Nude Food Wednesday at our school. Students bringing nude food in their lunchboxes have the opportunity to get points for their sporting house.

New Attendance Laws:

Commencing at the beginning of this term, the school must now have parent/guardian notification of a child’s non-attendance on the day they are not at school.

Therefore, if your child is sick or absent for any reason, you must contact the school by phone, email or signed and dated letter to let us know the reason your child is away on the day they are away. You cannot get your other children to give us a verbal reason.

If we have not been notified then the school must make contact with you by phone or by a home visit to clarify why the student is absent.

Please help us with the implementation of this new law into the school.

Weekly Attendance Rate:

The attendance rate for Week 5, Term 4 was 89.5%. I encourage parents to notify the school of student absence due to the new round of illnesses currently circulating throughout the town. Parents it would be beneficial to provide a doctor’s certifi-cate for absences longer than 3 days.

Parents you must notify the school of the reason for your child’s absence. If the school is not notified we are required by legislation to telephone you. If your child is going to have a prolonged absence you need to contact the school regarding this.

Tips for turning up to school:

Early Arrival At School:

There has been an increase in the number of students that are arriving at school, some up to 20 minutes before 8:30am. Please remember that students are not to be in the school grounds before 8:30am as there is no one on duty to supervise them. All early arrivals are to remain seated until staff go in to the playground.
