Most socially advanced brands typically have the highest engagement rate and offer relevant and engaging content. They tend to have a strong pres-ence on channels such as Facebook, Twitter, You-tube and Google+. They have a presence in blogging and share stories through videos and photos. They tweet multiple times per day and pro-vide custom Facebook tabs for fans to enjoy.

These brands have a strong presence and are engaging with their fans, however they have not explored new ways to engage. They typically aren’t using platforms such as Pinterest, Instagram and Google+. Although, they do have a loyal following on the platforms they are using. Consistent posting keeps them engaged with their fans.

These brands have mastered one or two profiles and are quickly building volume, but lack in a full conmmunications plan. It is harder for fans to find these brands and therefore they don’t get the response they would like when communicating. A lack of engaging content and media rich assets could also be to blame.

These brands are most non-existent when it comes to social engagement. They usually start a social profile, but lack the skill and direction to manage it and to keep it consistent. Items are out of date and fan comments are not responded to. They are participating becasue they feel they “have” to.
