Who’s Doing What
Roaming Proctors: Ms. Tejada, Mrs. Elias, Mr. Shippy, Esmerelda, Salma, Patty, Ms. Egbert,
Test Administrators (PACS Teachers) All Test Administrators must review and be familiar with the Test Administration Directions prior to the day of testing.• Proctor the tests in the classroom• Oversee classroom testing compliance & security• Ensure that all test material is accounted for
Test Administrator Responsibilities
All Test Administrators • Must use Test Administration

Test Administrator Responsibilities Participate in training Signing and returning to the test
coordinator the AzMERIT/AIMS Test Security Agreement
Adhering to test administration security procedures
Receiving test materials from the Testing Coordinator
Verifying quantities of test materials received
Distributing and collecting all test materials from students on testing days
Following the test administration directions exactly as stated
Requesting guidance from the test coordinator when unusual circumstances arise or when uncertain about proper procedures
Completing all necessary student demographic information if needed
Completing the accommodations information on AzMERIT/Science AIMS answer documents for students receiving standard accommodations
Assembling and returning ALL test materials to the Test Coordinator at the end of each testing day
Security of Test MaterialsIt is unethical and will be viewed as a violation for any person to:• Capture images of an part of the test via
any electronic device• Duplicate in any way any part of the test• Examine, read, or review the content of
any portion of the test• Disclose or allow to be disclosed the
content of any portion of the test before, during, or after test administration
• Discuss any AzMERIT test item before, during, or after test administration
• Allow students access to any test content prior to testing
• Allow students to share information during test administration
• Allow student to use scratch paper during the ELA Reading test
• Read any pars of the test to students except as indicated in the Test Administration Directions or as part of an accommodation
Security of Test Materials Continued• Influence students’ responses by
making any kind of gestures (for example, pointing to items, holding up fingers to signify item numbers, or answer options) while students are taking the test
• Instruct students to go back and reread/redo answers/responses after they have finished their test since this instruction may only be given before the students take the test
• Change or erase students’ responses
• Review students’ responses• Read or review students’ scratch paper• Fail to return all test material, including
unused documents• Participate in, direct, aid, counsel, assist in,
encourage, or fail to report any violations of these test administration security procedures.
Security of Test Materials Continued
Test Administrators and Proctors may NOT assist student in answering questions. Test administrators and Proctors may NOT translate, reword, or explain any test content. Notest content may never be discussed before, during, or after test administration.
Security of Test Materials
• By signing the Security Agreement the Test Administrator agrees:
1. Test books and answer documents are restricted
2. Test materials will be kept under lock and key except during actual test times
3. No student will be allowed to remove test materials from the testing room
Prepare Test Rooms

Preparing the Room:Before the day of testing……
1. Good lighting, ventilation, and freedom from distracting noises and interruptions are important for student performance.
2. Visual aids displayed in the testing room need to be removed or covered completely.
3. Arrange student seating so that students cannot easily see the test booklets of others and so that the Test Administrators and Proctors can walk by each student.
4. Students’ desks should be cleared of backpacks and unnecessary materials prior to the beginning of the test session.

Precautions for Test Administration
• Do not allow students to use ink, colored pens/pencils, marker, or highlighters in the scorable test booklets. Doing so may cause scoring discrepancies.
• Do not allow students to use correction fluid on the scorable test booklets. Doing so may cause scoring discrepancies.
• Do not allow students to make any marks near the timing marks on the edges of the scorable test booklets. Doing so may cause scoring discrepancies.
• Do not allow student to use extra paper or ink to write their ELA Writing test responses. Only responses that are written in pencil on the pages designated “Final Copy” will be scored.
• Do not use “sticky” notes, paperclips, tape, staples, or glue on the scorable test booklets.
• Do not insert loose papers into the scorable test booklets.
Directions About Marking Answers
Based on feedback from the test coordinators at the training, we asked the vendor about this. The student directions now include this statement for the Reading portion of the ELA test: You will mark your answers in the test booklet by filling in the bubble or bubbles that match the answer you choose. If you want to change an answer, completely erase the mark you made before making a new mark. You must use a No. 2 pencil to mark your answers. You may write in your test booklet, but do not write or mark near the bubbles where you will fill in your answers

Supervise the room at all times during testing. Walk around, don’t sit at your desk.

Answer student questions that pertain only to the clarification of test administration directions.

Verify that students are marking their answers to multiple-choice questions or writing their final responses to the writing prompt in the proper locations in their answer documents

Check for a large number of erasures—these may indicate that a student is confused about the directions

Students Finish TestingStudents need to remain quiet during the entire testing session.
Students are instructed to:
Close test book and answer document
Raise hand and test administrator will collect test materials
Student may read or do class room work silently
Additional Time Students who need additional time must be allowed to finish testing.
Students may be escorted to another secure testing location.
Only students requiring additional time should have lunch brought to them during testing.
Each content area must be completed by the end of the school day.

All students should remain in the testing room during the entire scheduled testing session
Restroom Use
• Only 1 student may leave at a time• Student materials must be collected before the
student leaves• Give materials back when the student returns
Students who Leave School
• Students who leave school prior to completing a content area are ineligible to continue to test for that content area.
• Inform student he/she may not be permitted to finish that content area
• Test materials are returned for scoring
