    SilencerCo doesnt introduce a new

rearm silencer to the market unless

t is exceeds the performance of any

    other silencer available. Period.

Founders Jonathon Shults and Joshua Waldron arenot gun anatics - they each only own a ew guns. Josh

and Jonathon are young and aggressive in business, and they saw a very large market potential or top gradeilencers with ew competitors. The two are savvy in

business, in innovation, in marketing, and in technology.hey saw a uture business with competitors who areypically large corporations who, by the very nature oheir size, innovate slowly and take a long time to bring

new products to the market.SilencerCo launched their business one and a hal

ears ago with a dream. The ounders purchased a CNCmachine and got to the task o designing and buildingilencers. Jonathon said, the science behind a silencer

was ascinating or me, just to be able to tame a humogous explosion.

It took a ull 6 months to secure the Federal FirearmLicences (FFL) and the Special Operations Tax (SOTwhich would make the company a class 2 manuacturo rearms. Though they had a concept, they could nbegin manuacturing the silencers until they receivethese licences.

uted in gun shops throughout the United States and with3 authorized distributors supporting sales. 22Sprarrowsperorm so well that not one silencer has been returnedto the company in its history.

As we go to print, the innovative SilencerCo willlaunch its second silencer oering, the Osprey. Osprey, with two SilencerCo patents pending, will be, to thecompanys knowledge, the quietest 45 ACP pistol silencerin the world. It will result in sound reduction o morethan 30 db, and will be one o only 2 silencers that are

classied as hearing sae shot without hearing protec-tion. The Osprey took just 3 months rom conception toproduction. SilencerCo can bring products to market soquickly, Jonathon said, because we do the engineer-ing, the research, the testing, and the manuacturing allin-house. Our competitors have an R&D sta, but thenthey take their prototype products to outside shops ormachining, and this takes a substantial amount o time,as there are oten several iterations o a product beoreit goes to market.

The philosophy at SilencerCo is to purchase best inclass machinery and sotware to run their business. Inorder to manuacture the best products, and take themrom concept to production in the shortest amount otime, we only purchase the best equipment to run ourbusiness, Jonathonsaid. One o ourmost instrumentalpurchases was Del-cams FeatureCAMsotware. When thecompany startedup, they were usingcompetitive sotware.Jonathon says, Itwas really buggy orour mill/turn require-ments and thoughwe could simulatea part, i there wereany errors, it didntpost. When I sawthe FeatureCAM sot-ware demonstrationprovided by BlaineDuke, I knew it wasthe package we needed. (The company actually re-

turned the competitive sotware to the manuactureror a reund).

Blaine elaborated on the sotware savvy at SilencerCo.Our training usually entails about a week o instructionin order or the customer to be extremely procient withit. Jonathon didnt want or need any training (It is nosurprise, as Jonathon and Josh own a sotware develop-ment company, and Jonathon is able to write sotwarecode in 5 languages, all sel taught!)

Jonathon elaborated, As a new machine shop, localservice and support is key. We get this rom Delcam. Even
