The Ayurvedic Institute offers several

training programs that can serve as either

continuing education or as a certification,

depending upon the path you choose. Our

programs were created to offer Ayurvedic

practitioners and yoga teachers quality training

in an Ayurvedically-based yoga therapy as created

by Vasant Lad, MASc. Each training is offered as a

true immersion — involving an intensive schedule

maximizing your time at the Ayurvedic Institute —

PREREQUISITES

This is a foundational training in Ayuryoga; however previous Yoga certification experience is necessary as we assume foundational teaching knowledge has been integrated and is not taught within the Ayuryoga training.• 200 hour yoga teaching certification • One year personal yoga practice and one year teaching

experience • Knowledge of basic anatomy and physiology

(20 hours+ of study)

The Ayurvedic Institute offers several formats and programs in Ayuryoga geared toward Ayurvedic practitioners, yoga teachers, yoga therapists, and those who love yoga and Ayurveda.

Ayuryoga Online CourseThis 12 week online course gives students 30 hours of instruction that introduces all of the foundational practices of Ayuryoga, based on the Ayurvedic principles of doshas and agni. Ayuryoga Level One TrainingA two-part program for yoga teachers interested in incorporating Ayurveda into their practice and in learning how to work with clients privately. This is a foundational yoga therapy module.

Ayuryoga Level Two TrainingA more advanced program for yoga teachers and Ayurvedic counselors or health care practitioners with a strong background in Ayurveda. These modules teach Ayurvedic pathology of diseases and assessment in conjunction with Ayuryoga to create treatment protocols based on individual concerns and needs.

Ayuryoga Level Three TrainingBeginning the Fall of 2016, this final training offers clinical study for those interested in receiving an Ayuryoga Therapist certification. Entry to Level Three requires completion of Level Two or ASP 1 and ASP 2 and 300-hour Ayuryoga YTT.

During this 2-part immersion, learn the basic tenets of Ayuryoga to understand how pranayama, asana, mudra, and meditation can bring healing to the mind, body and soul. Delve deep and understand how to teach and create basic yoga protocols based upon the doshas and sub-doshas, agni (bodily fire) and dhatus (bodily tissues). Weaving the philosophical pillars of both yoga and Ayurveda, we integrate practical and theoretical methods to inquire and work with both body and mind. Covering the basic precepts of digestion, nutrition, dinacharya (daily routine), and rutacharya (seasonal routine), participants will understand how to create basic lifestyle recommendations.

AS A CERTIFIED AYURYOGA INSTRUCTOR YOU CAN: • Teach pranayama, Surya and Chandra Namaskar, So Hum

and Empty Bowl Meditation• Teach basic Ayuryoga asanas while using hands-on

techniques for proper alignment and safety• Lead Ayuryoga group classes based on doshic and seasonal

principles• Create individualized Ayuryoga programs to balance

prakruti, vikruti, and agni• Incorporate and understand how season and time of day are
