AYURVEDAAyurveda is the eternal Vedic science of life, the traditional natural healing system of India, Sri Lanka and Nepal. The concept of Ayurveda is not just medical treatment or diagnosis of a diseased condition but much more than that. Ayurveda is a set of practical, simple guidelines, for long life and good health. Using them you can bring your body and mind to perfect balance. Ayurveda has a theoretical basis but is overwhelmingly practical in nature. It includes the total concept of life both man and environment. Ayurvedic science is referred to as 'science of life' as the word Ayurveda is composed of two words Ayu and Veda where Ayu means life and Veda means science. Thus Ayurveda means 'science of life'. It teaches us how an individual can stay in harmony with nature, and enhance their health. The content of Ayueveda has developed over thousands of years of human evolution. Today, Ayurveda is at the forefront of mind-body medicines. Ayurveda has spread far beyond its traditional base and is gaining attention throughout the world. Ayurveda with its understanding of life and consciousness becomes the medicine of the future.

Ayurveda dates back an estimated 5,000-10,000 years and is widely considered to be the oldest form of health care in the world. It is understood by many scholars that knowledge of Ayurveda spread out from India and influenced the ancient Chinese system of medicine, Unani medicine, and the humoral medicine practiced by Hippocrates in Greece. For this reason, Ayurveda is often referred to as the "Mother of all healing."

The knowledge of Ayurveda is believed to be of Divine origin and was communicated to the saints and sages of India who received its wisdom through deep meditation. Ayurvedic knowledge was passed down orally through the generations and then written down in the Vedas, the sacred texts of India believed to be the oldest writings in the world.

Written in Sanskrit, the Vedas cover a vast number of subjects from grammar to health care. The Vedas were written approximately 2500 BC or earlier. Current knowledge about Ayurveda is mostly drawn from relatively later writings, primarily the Caraka Samhita (approximately 1500 BC), the Ashtang Hrdyam (approximately 500 AD), and the Sushrut Samhita (300 - 400 AD). These three classics describe the basic principles and theories from which Ayurveda has evolved. They also contain vast clinical information on the management of a multitude of diseases expanded upon by later writings and research.

A PNGYURVEDA

Ayurveda PNG – a private company –was founded by Ms. Vicky Vene in January 2012. After witnessing my family members and some friends who have gone through the successful Ayurveda treatments for their sicknesses, I did my own research to find out more about Ayurveda. I have built a very good business relationship with Dr. Sujeewa Vithanage, the sole physician in charge of the Sethsuwa Hospital Group, who was honoured with the UN Friendship Organisation Jeewanashoori Award.

A BAMS degree holder from the University of Colombo, Dr. Sujeewa has been in the forefront of all studies, tests and worldwide attention that Sethsuwa Prananjeewa has received. Dr. Sujeewa Vithanage is the only guiding physician in the making of this secret recipe, Sethsuwa Pranajeewa today.

Because of this business relationship and the health problems we are facing, my primary objective of the company is to make use of pure herbals in our country and prepare people for good diet and life style.

I believe that as we grow into learning more about Ayurveda and it’s benefits, we will begin to understand that Ayurveda refreshes individuals by regaining resistance and good health. We provide Ayurveda treatment and healing therapies with absolute dedication, so that the individuals who use our services are encouraged to integrate Ayurveda into their daily life for their own benefit to bring peace, balance of body, mind and soul. Our aim is to provide a platform for the individuals to cope with the daily stresses of life and promote the chances of healing oneself.

To achieve healthy life for Papua New Guineans by introducing an ancient system of Ayurveda by treating conditions most of our people are suffering from such as increased levels of Cholesterol, Diabetes, Hypertension, Cancer, Stroke, Heart Disease and other conditions. It is noteworthy to mention here that many of our people will come to us as last resort, having tried every other system and failed.

We consider it our duty to treat and alleviate the suffering of all people from every walks of life.
