Dinesh Babu CEO – The Carbon Rating Agency (IDEAcarbon) Dinesh has over 16 years experience in the field of Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency and Climate Change and has specialized in biomass-related technologies and applications. He has degrees in Mechanical Engineering and M.Tech in Energy Engineering. He was the Group Director of Asia Carbon Global, where he managed over 125 Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects, the Asia Carbon Asset Development Facility and the global carbon trading activities of the Asia Carbon Exchange. He has also worked in the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency, an Indian Public Sector Energy Financing organization, besides running his own energy consultancy firm and biomass densification equipment manufacturing facility. He has served The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), a world-renowned non-profit, scientific and policy research organization, in the fields of Renewable Energy and Climate Change. Dinesh has participated in various international conferences, expos and has delivered presentations on carbon trading and finance.

The Solar Capability Scheme (SCS), Clean Energy Research and

Testbedding (CERT) Programme and Clean Energy Research Programme

S$20 million (under SCS) : encourage innovative design and integration of solar

panels into green buildings.

The S$17 million CERT is targeted at the public sector (to provide opportunities

to develop and test clean energy applications and solutions)

S$50 million Clean Energy Research Programme which supports R&D efforts

in academia and industry.

Clean energy scholarship (NRF-CE : PhD & Company) (S$25 Mn)

with emphasis on solar, CE identified as a key growth are for Singapore

well placed to lead as an R&D base and as a provider of CETS
