TO: Robert LeflerMilton, Kentucky
Robert Lefler is notified that a Petition for adoption of a child, named Brentley Dale Peak, born to Abbygale Bible Deckard on June 12, 2017 was filed in the office of the Clerk of Sullivan Circuit Court, Sullivan County Courthouse, Sullivan, Indiana 47882. The petition for adoption alleges that the consent to adoption of Robert Lefler is not required because Robert Lefler has not established paternity, assumed no responsibility of raising said child and has never visited with the child and alleges that Robert Lefler has abandoned and deserted said child. The Petitioner is filing his affidavit showing diligent search has been made and that Robert Lefler cannot be found.
If Robert Lefler seeks to contest the adoption of the child, Robert Lefler must file a motion to contest the adoption in accordance with IC 31-19-10-1 in the above named court not later than thirty (30) days after the date of first publication of this notice.
If Robert Lefler does not file a motion to contest the adoption within thirty (30) days after first publication of this notice, the above named court will hear and determine the petition for adoption. The consent to adoption of Robert Lefler will be irrevocably implied and Robert Lefler will lose the right to contest either the adoption or the validity of Robert Lefler’s implied consent to the adoption.
No oral statement made to Robert Lefler relieves Robert Lefler of his obligations under this notice.
This notice complies with IC 31-19-4.5-3 but does not exhaustively set forth a person’s legal obligations under the Indiana adoption statutes. A person being served with this notice should consult the Indiana adoption statutes.
