Many elders suffering from alzheimer’s disease need constant care and support from their care-takers or family members who are usually more stressed and overwhelmed by the responsibilities.

Memory cloud can help the user and the ones around them to keep track of their daily routines, safety issues and more. As the primary user (the one with alzheimer’s disease), he or she would have a device that is connected to whomever’s smartphone, in which he or she can receive and send alerts and notify symptoms, as well as hold their contact information in case of emergencies.

Memory cloud would give the user more freedom and courage for them to do things on their own.

1 out of 8 older Americans have Alzheimer’s disease. 1 out of 3 seniors dies with Alzheimer’s or other dementia.

More common among women

It is estimated that about a half million Americans younger than age 65 have some form of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease. (Early onset)

Number of people above the age 65 is continuously rising. (2010-2050: 20% increase estimated)

As caregivers/family members, it is important to take care of their own emotional and mental health as well.

Alzheimer’s disease is the 6th leading cause of death.

It is important to help prevent any accidents or miscommuniction that leads to accidents that could happen due to many of the symptoms such as memory loss, difficulties in mobility, inability to find words when speaking and more.

One way to help elders and caregivers/family member to provide them a device that informs, alerts, provides them assistance when they are not around or in worst cases lost, and in danger.

There hasn’t been a successful product or a system which really addresses the needs of people with Alzheimer’s disease. The focus is to help them be more independent and avoid panics or confusion that leads them to danger.

Being prepared for common to the worst situations, the device can help train elders to be as independent as possible but provides them guidance, information about themselves (that they can record), emergency 911 help, and also alert the smartphones of family members or caregivers that they need help or that they are doing well.

This system would require the user to drink a cup of tea in order to use the used tea bag or the remaining particles as part of the ingredients to make home made lotion. This can be placed in an office desk or even near the kitchen where the user can directly insert and use after a certain time. This will give the users more variety of scents and as well as feed their skin with nutrition. The user can organize and create different mixes whenever they want. The user will maintain, organize, and activate the device through a smartphone application which provides functions such as preheat, warm, cool and store.

Using left over tea bags as one of the starting ingredients, users can create and keep various types of lotion for different types of skin. It won’t require all the heavy, overwhelming sets of materials you need to make a bottle of lotion. It would either be a travel size or a home-based product that can also act as odor eliminating humidifier that you can set on the make up table.

Basic Ingredients: olive oil, coconut oil, beeswax, vitamin E oil, butter, other extracts you desire

_ FOR SKIN DISORDERS

5 most common skin disorders:Acne, eczema, seborrheic dermatitis, skin cancer and psoriasis

Most lotions that are supposed to help your skin infections are either too strong for sensitive skin, or don’t have the de-sired scent women want. Using natural ingredients the user gets to pick and mix and experience an easy way to create her own homemade lotion that will help the specific need of the user.

Apart from hydrating the skin with natural ingredients, the humidifying function allows steam therapy to help women maintain healthy, beautiful skin.

_ CONCEPT OVERVIEW

This is a more conceptual, abstract concept of recording and understanding the atmosphere of an office or a living place. The user can manually change the mood of the installation when hosting a party. If the house is quiet, it provides a soothing, wave like movement that reflects the peacefulness. The installation provides users a mental, and physical break when they look up at the ceiling. It can also be a time where users can re-flect and calm down when stressed. It can act as a quiet friend always watching over you even when times are bad.

_ USERS WITH HOME OFFICES

This installation is an interactive and fun way businessmen and women who work in an enclosed area for a long time, to relieve stress in many ways. It expresses the level of stress in the work area in various patterns, shapes, different colors to let users know whether they should take a moment to stretch, take a break. This system detects the level of stress, lack of fresh oxygen around the user, and the blood pressure level by a device worn on the wrist or a device that the user needs to insert their hand-wrist in.

One can send a ‘happy cloud’ or even a ‘time-out zone’ over to a neighbor co-worker across to remind him/her to take a time out and stretch, maybe relax for the certain amount of time given by the sender. It would be a fun way for workers to interact, get to know each other, and build a strong community in the office.

Offices of leading companies should provide the best environment possible for the workers who work hard to get the next promotion. Especially when they spend avg 8+ hours a day, it is basically their second home.

Stress, poor air quality, and hypertension are three most common problems and discomforts people who work in an office environment go through or experience which harms their health and in worst cases, leads to death.

Merging these needs with an enjoyable, interactive ceiling ‘playground’ where workers can relieve stress, take a breather, will improve their work efficiency but most importantly pick up healthy “work habbits”.

The majority of people’s normal daily posture is incorrect and unhealthy due to stress, work environment, etc. They bring these postures into the gym when training, and thus, solidify any improper postures causing prolonged pains and injuries.

_ Going back and forth to their device is distracting. _ They are aware of the importance of proper form, and posture and how it can prevent

them from injuries and get effective result.

_ They want to wear comfortable clothing that does not limit their movement.

_ Each user has unique intention and purpose to working out but they all want

Jonah has an unbalanced shoul-der which causes the axis of the body to tilt and lean towards his right.

He connects the activation card to it to Persuit, which then lets you set your general information and guides you through easy installation.

He puts on the earpiece which will give him constant feedback, suggestions, and guidance throughout his work-out.

Persuit then scans , analyzes, and detects his current posture before beginning any exercise.

The system recommends the type and duration of warm up stretches that can help him gradually improve his posture.

He begins his shoulder work-outs.

Persuit gives feedback after detecting unbalanced usage of the muscles and recommends several options that all ultimate-ly help him to training in better, correct form and technique.

Based on the feedback he de-cides to focus on his less-devel-oped shoulder muscles to obtain balance and overall better pos-ture.

Ellie looks at her bracelet to check out...

She puts her bracelet on and now she is ready to begin.

her posture in 3D form, her improper posture, and percentage of how “incorrect” and off her psoture is from an average, correct posture.

The earpiece tells her to stand in a comfortable “straight” posture. Then will begin analyzing her posture.

She now selects the muscle group that she wants to focus on today.

Next, she is deciding what exercise she will do today. She chooses the “standing bent-over triceps extension”.

She starts to work out and she receives a notifica-tion from the earpiece that her back parallel to the ground.

Now, the bracelet goes through warm ups that are recommended for this exercise according to her unique anatomy.

Also, she is notified that her legs are not bent enough to give her a steady, stable stance while lifting weights.

Warming up is very important, but since it’s easy to over stretch the muscles during, so she briefly stretches and moves on.

During exercises she briefly glances at her bracelet to see how she is doing.

He taps on the muscle he wants to work on today.

he fixes his posture and form and reminds himself that he needs to be more aware of the problem that occured throughout the work out.

Alerts user by vibration when it

detects any errors in form, muscle

focus, muscle balance, & breathing

rhythm. Can be customized or

toggled on/off.

If user is targeting the incorrect

muscle group during a specific

exercise, the suit sends a vibration

to the correct spot to help correct

muscle focus and balance. Can be

re-activated through the brace

component.

When prompted to choose a muscle

group or area to focus on for exercising

user uses the suit to select options

by tapping, grabbing, or flexing that

specific area.

Initially, we were planning to add an aggressively bright neon green to represent the reassuring yet en-ergetic feeling to the suit to follow our concept.

These are soe of our trials on laser cut patterns and testing power lev-els to see how deep the cut should be.

We found the pattern that we like from the original pattern that we were almost finalizing on. The laser cutting machine cut the inside pat-terns first before cutting the outter lines and that’s when we decided that we like the patterns on the grey fabric the most. It represents structure without overwhelmingly showing the hexagon shape.

We had to actively work everyday with our seam-stress, Kathy Lewis. She was struggling with our complicated design, with a lot of sharp corners and the importance of exact place-ment of patches.

We created paper patches so she can cut up the fabric to place them on the base fabric to adjust anything before sewing them on completely.

Jonah arrives at the gym and changes into his Axi-om suit.

He places the activator on teh designated electrical contact points of the suit in order to activate the suit, and receive information on his phone through bluetooth.

He is looking forward to another intensive work-out.

Page 216: Axiom Process Book

After warming up, he begins with the dumbbell squat press as his first set of exercise.

After the 4th rep, the suit recognizes Jonah’s incor-rect form. It sends him a beat vibration to his knee to alert him that his knees should not be crossing over the tip of his toes. This causes his heels to be lifted off the ground, which makes it difficult for Jonah to hold a steady pose.

Page 217: Axiom Process Book

Due to the beat vibration, which allows him to understand the safe limit range of his movement, he reminds himself to keep his heels flat on the ground. With that in mind, he continues with his dumbbell squat press exercise.

However, his heels continued to lift off the ground because he did not have a steady stance. The directional vibration is then sent to his calf zone, redirecting him to open up his legs more.

Through the vibrational guidance, he now has a more stable posture, which allows his heels to stay on the surface of the ground and his knees to not cross over his toes.

He is curious about his progress, so he opens the application to quickly view his stats.

He often goes back to some of his traditional ex-ercises that he always tries to mix in between his challenges.

He moves on to one of his favorite exercises:dumbbell one-arm tricep extension.

As he begins to get tired, his arm began dropping down, shifting the focus of the muscle that is pri-marily being used. The suit sends a ripple vibration to his tricep zone to remind him that he needs to fix his form to focus back to using his tricep muscles.

During his last set, he is extremely exhausted. His arms started to drop downwards again, so the suit sends him a directional vibration helping Jonah to allign his triceps to the side of his face.

With the motivational push the suit provides, Jonah corrects his form to finish his workout successfully.
