Continuing AwardsTo be eligible, you must have completed themost recent consecutive Fall and Winter termsat Red Deer College. Requirements arefull-time studies (60% of a full program load)unless stated otherwise.

Graduate AwardsSome awards are for students who havecompleted a program.

General InformationGeneral Information and AdviceAll awards are administered by the StudentFunding and Awards Office, located in themain hallway of Red Deer College(Room 1101); phone (403) 343-4027 or(403) 314-2443.

Award and scholarship information is availablein the Awards Office, in the student newspaper,The Bricklayer , and on the AWARDSINFORMATION BOARD in the forum.

Award, scholarship and bursary informationmay be obtained by calling the StudentFunding and Awards Office or by checkingour website, www.rdc.ab.ca � use the QuickLink to Awards and Scholarships.

These awards are intended for the studentsregistered as Red Deer College students,unless otherwise stated in the terms of theaward. For most awards, you must also beproceeding with a program in the nextacademic session.

Visa students are eligible for all Red DeerCollege awards. For awards based onfinancial need, Visa students must show thisneed is greater than the amount required byCanadian immigration for one year�s study atRed Deer College.

Red Deer College assumes liability forpayment of awards only to the extent thatgifts from donors or finances permit.Eligibility for awards will follow the donor�swishes as much as possible.

Entrance AwardsYou may be eligible for an entrance award ifyou are entering the first year of full-timestudies in a post-secondary program at RedDeer College in the Fall term.

Application forms are available from theStudent Funding and Awards Office (Room1101) after January 31.They are also available at our website,www.rdc.ab.ca, or via e-mail [email protected].

Awards are defined as:

Academic Award � an award given inrecognition of academic achievement.+ Minimum G.P.A. of 3.0 andminimum of 9 academic creditscompleted per term.

Bursary � a cash award given on thebasis of financial need and goodacademic standing.

Scholarship � an award given inrecognition for academic achievementcombined with involvement or servicein College/community-relatedendeavours or other conditions asestablished by the donor. Based oncombination of criteria.+ Minimum G.P..A. of 2.7 and 9academic credits in each of theprevious two terms.

Success �Guaranteed!In an effort to attract the cream of the crop,Red Deer College has expanded its scholarship andawards program with the new Building on ExcellenceGuaranteed $1,000 Awards for academic achievement.

The awards give $1000 tuition to students entering Red Deer College fromhigh school with an average of 90 per cent or better. The $1000 awards will besplit, with $500 earmarked for a student�s fall semester and $500 for the wintersemester tuition.

�The Red Deer College Building on Excellence Guaranteed $1000 Award reflects the College�scommitment to academic distinction,� says Michael Donlevy, Associate Vice President, CommunityRelations at Red Deer College. �We want to attract the best and and brightest students from centralAlberta and make it possible for them to study within their own community, close to family and friends.�
