ADVANCED ARCHITECTURE: Dragon Boat Racing Facility PARTNER Metropolitan Planning Council & Coalition for a Better Chinese American Community
The Ping Tom Park Advisory Council and the Coalition for a Better Chinese American Community (CBCAC) are working to improve Ping Tom Park through both public art and events (including dragon boat racing), and improving infrastructure to guide visitors from Chinatown into the Park. This division challenges students to design a Dragon Boat Facility that will house boats and supplies and activate public engagement. It’s critical that a design connects the east and west parts of the park, which are currently separated by railroad tracks. This division calls for the development of both a physical and digital model.
