• Avant Garde is described as being innovative or inventive fashion

• Also it has been described as being vintage and unconventional clothing

• Avant Garde is often created by artist who want to express something, for example a artist may revolt again certain traditionalism and make a statement

• Avant Garde is the French word Vanguard, which has been described in both are and military scenarios

• It is unknown exactly when designers starting creating the fashion but the art itself started in the early 1900’s, but can bee seen in earlier designs from the 1800’s as well

• As many trends, the fashion often disappears or slows down, but Avant Garde has been presented in one form or another since it’s beginning

• In the 1960’s Avant Garde art and fashion was very a controversial subject

• Avant Garde started to really take of in the 1960’s and explored new issues and areas that people were not used to seeing

• Avant Garde can also called ‘Haute Couture’ or ‘Modernism’

• When designers are ever asked to design it they all come up with different descriptions: sophisticated, mysterious, intimidating, intriguing, striking

• The clothes usually mean unusual ones, which catch the eye and does not let you fade in the crowd

• The accessories are very important in Avant Garde, the more bizarre and colorful or large they are, the better

• Bizarre, bold, loud and mysterious are words for the fashion and accessories

• All accessories are designed to be part of the apparel and the whole combination is considered the outfit

• So in a way Avant Garde doesn’t have accessories, they are the outfit

• One of the most featured accessories for Avant Garde is the shoes

• As with the clothing, the art of making Avant Garde shoes is a way of art and taken seriously with the artist

• This is one of the most known industries of Avant Garde fashion because regular people on the street are willing to wear this crazy but beautiful shoe designs

• The makeup is very runway and most women would say that they would never wear it on a everyday occasion but if you look in the history of make up design you will see that many make up designs originally come from Avant Garde influence

• For example: Chris Brown and Lady Gaga

• Lady Gaga is a huge advocate for Avant Garde and is well known for her outlandish outfits which in part makes her standout among the rest
