About UsEstablishedSince June 1979, Avalon Funeral Supplies Ltd has successfully produced high quality coffins and caskets in various woods including American Oak, Elm and Sapele. As one of the very few coffin manufacturers topossess its own veneering line, we have the capability to veneer most substrates of various thicknesses, including chipboard, solid timber and MDF.

Avalon is owned and run by the Halliday family. The company is situated on its 1.7 acre site based in the North West of England. In 2009 we supplied 86,000 timber products which were used in family funerals across the UK.

We employ a team of skilled craftsmen and we worktogether as a dedicated, focused and committed teamwho work in partnership with our customers. We havethe capability to react immediately to urgent situations andbuild bespoke coffins to a customer’s individualspecification at short notice.As an established distributorof coffins we deliver nationwide, including London,Glasgow and the Isle of Man. We remain one of thefew companies who still deliver almost any coffin to your doorstep in 48 hours.

EthicalAvalon realises that its future success as a coffin manufacturing company depends on the continued availability of timber from the forests of the world. We are fully committed to recycling processes and of insisting that where felling does take place, replanting is undertaken to ensure the continuity of raw materials.Many of our suppliers already have a Chain of Custody Certificate from recognised bodies and are subsequently FSC accredited. Avalon will continue to exert its influence with its suppliers to ensure that all of the selected materials can be traced back to well-managed forests.Avalon is fully committed to recycling and energy management, and we were awarded our first environmental award as far back as January 2003. Over 95% of the coffins Avalon produces contain FSC-accredited materials.
