Manual Bypass System DescriptionA Manual Bypass System consists of

load break switches mechanically interlocked,toprovide load break isolation and also havebypass transfer power contacts ,therefore insituations where a manual bypass is requireddue to one reason or other,this can beaccomplished safely and efficiently by utilizingMBPS.PCTL Automation manufactures a widerange of open transition manual bypassswitches,covering the complete powerrange ,these swithces are aestheticallyenclosed in metallic enclosures to provide asafe easy and rapid action Bypassswitches ,fully rated,self cleaning contactsprovides a reliable solution for through out itsservice life.

Application Description

The bypass isolation system ismandatory for applications wheremaintenance, inspection and testing is to beperform, while maintaining continuous power tothe load. The application also inclludes criticallife support systems and standby powersituations requiring safe system maintenancewith no power disruptions. Such a design allowsfor the quick isolation of the different devicessuch as automatic change over-systems,UPS,Volatge stabilizers ,fuel cells etcfor inspection, maintenance or replacementpurpose.

The design consists of operatingtwin double pole Isolators by using amechanically interlocked and drivenmotor mechanism the designincorporates the closing of single isolatorat one instance of time ,this combinationcan also be used to privide mcb,s in placeof isolators for dual protection of thermalfor overloads and magnetic for shortcircuit ,the advantage of using themotorized mechanism is that theswitching postions of the isolators arestable and unlike contactors does notrequire contineous power for mantainingthe position,at the same time offering aduel protection.

range of the automatic change overswitch over isolating contacts type is thatthe operation of the motor operatorrequires supply,only during short interval,when switch over is required from onesource to other,after the transition thecontacts remain in stable position and donot require any power,thereby reducingthe stress of abnormal control supply ontheir operating conditions.

Second advantge is that it can beoffered with thermal and shortcuitprotections by utiizing the mcb,s forswitching from one source toanother,instead of contacts.

Third advantage is that in case ofthe automode failure immediately thesupply can be fed from one source oranother by using integral bypass .

Fourth advantage is small footprints requires a smaller and compactdesign.
