Thanksgiving:Thanksgiving´s day is a typical American celebration

of America In United States it is held on the fourth Thursday of November althought anciently it was made on the last Thursday. It constitutes a big family holiday, where people reunite with their family around the table doing traditional things, like eat a turkey together.

Easter:It varies from year to year and it celebrates the

Cristian belief of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It´s a day of religious service and for funny reunions. Many americans follow old traditions like painting hard boiled eggs and give baskets of sweets to the children, this is considered a symbol of fertility. The following day,easter Monday the president of USA organizes the annual easter eggs hunt, for the children in the gardens of the White House.

Labor day:It´s celebrated the first Monday of september and in

this celebration the nation honours the workers with a great parade. For the majorety of American it marks the end of the summer vacations.

Monuments Golden Gate Bridge:The golden gate bridge is a suspension bridge

spanning the Golden Gate the opening of the San Francisco Bay into the Pacific Ocean. As part of both US Ruote 101 and California States Route I, it connects the city of San Francisco on the nothern tip of the San Francisco Peninsula to Marin County. It´s was the longest suspension bridge span in the world and has become an internationality recognized symbol of San Francisco. Since it´s completion, the span length has been supassed by eight other brigdes.

Liberty Statue:The statue of is one of the most famous monuments

of the world. It is situated in Liberty Island in the South of Manhattan island, near the Hudson river.

It was a present from the French governement to USA in 1886 to conmemorate the Centennial of the USA Declaration of Independence. It was also a friendship sign. The statue was made by Frederic Auguste Bartholdy a French man.

President heads in Rushmore montain:They are situated in black hills of Dakora of South.

Rushmore Mountain hides one of the biggest monuments of the world. Statues were carved in rock. They were four USA presidents. George Washington,Thomas Jefferson, Theudore Rossevett and Abraham Lincolm they represented the first 150 years of USA his history.

Needle spacing:It is a tower in seattle washington. It is the tallest

building in the North East of the USA and it is a symbol of that region of the country. It was built in 1962 in the center of town. Now it is a rotating restaurant.

White Obelisk:The Washigton monument makes reference to the big

white obelisk located at the west National Hall in Washigton.D.C. It is a monument to commemorate the first president of USA George Washigton,who won the indepence from the British. In 1884 the structure it became the tallest in the world until the Eiffel tower in 1889.

PRESIDENTS George Washington (February 22,1732-December

14,1799):

He was the commander of the Continental Army in the American Revolutionary War (1775-1783) and served as the first President of USA (1789-1797). For this central role in the formation of USA, he is often referred to as the father of his country.

He was awarded very first Congressional Gold Medal with the Thanks of Congress. Washington has been consistently ranked by scholars as one of the greatest USA Presidents.

Abraham Lincoln (February 12,1809-April 15,1865):

He was serving from March 1861 until his assassination in April 1865. He successfully led his country throught its greatest internal crisis, the American Civil War, preserving the Union and ending slavery. Before his election in 1860 as the first Republican president, Lincoln had been a country lawyer, an Illinois state legislator, a member of USA of Representatives, and twice an unsuccessful candidate for election to USA senate.

George Walker Bush (borned July 6, 1946):

He was president from 2001 to 2009. Bush is the eldest son of George H.W.Bush and Barbara. Eight months into Bush’s first term as president, the September 11,2001, terrorist attacks ocurred. In response, Bush announced a global War on Terrorism, ordered an invasion of Afganistan that same year and an invasion of Iraq in 2003. Bush promoted policies on the economy, health care, education and security reform. After leaving office, Bush returned to Texas.

William Jefferson “Bill” Clinton (borned August 19, 1946):

He was president from 1993 to 2001. He became president after the Cold War. His wife, Hillary Clinton, is currently the US Secretary of State. Clinton was described as a New Democrat and was largely known for the Third Way philosophy of governance. His policies had been centrist. Clinton presided over the longest period of peace-time economic expansion in American history.

Barack Hussein Obama II (borned August 4, 1961):

He is currently the USA President and the first African American to hold the office. Obama previously served as the junior USA senator from Illionois from January 2005 until he resigned after his election to the presidency in November 2008.

Obama began his run for the presidency in February 2007. After a close campaign in the 2008 against Hillary Clinton, he won his party’s nomination. In the 2008 general election, he defeated Republican nominee John McCain and was president on January 20, 2009. He has the 2009 Novel Peace Prize.

UNIVERSITIES Harvard University:Is a private university located in Cambridge,

Massachusetts and a member of the Ivy League. Founded in 1636 by the colonial Massachusetts legislature, Harvard currently comprises ten separate academic units. It is also the first and oldest corporation in the United States.

Stanford University:Is a private research university located in Stanford,

California, United States. The university was founded in 1891 by United States Senator and former California governor Leland Stanford and his wife, Jane Lathrop Stanford, as a memorial to their son Leland Stanford Jr., who died of typhoid in Italy a few weeks before his 16th birthday. The Stanfords used their farm lands in Palo Alto to establish the university with the hope of creating a large institution of higher education in California.

Carolina Herrera (born January 8, 1939):Is a Venezuelan fashion designer and entrepreneur

who founded her eponymous company in 1980.

Herrera was born in Caracas, Venezuela. Based in New York City since 1981, throughout the 1970s and 1980s she was named one of the best dressed women in the world. Her empire grew rapidly and steadily and she went on to dress Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis for the last 12 years of her life.

Calvin Klein (born November 19, 1942):Is an American fashion designer who launched the

company that would later become Calvin Klein Inc. in 1968. In addition to clothing, Calvin Klein also gave his name to a range of perfumes, including CK One and CK Be (fragrances for both sexes), now owned by Coty Inc. Swatch Group manufactures watches and jewelry under the Calvin Klein and Calvin Klein Jeans brands.

Thomas Jacob “Tommy” Hilfiger(born March 24,1951)

Is an American fashion designer and founder of the Hilfiger was born and raised in Elmira, New York. The second of eight children, he grew up in an Irish-American family; he claims direct descent from Robert Burns. His parents originally intended for him to be an engineer. He attended Elmira Free Academy for high school. Rather than furthering his education, he started to work in retail at the age of 18. Hilfiger would go to New York City to buy jeans and bell-bottom pants, which he customized and resold at a local downtown Elmira store, Brown's brand Tommy Hilfiger.

John Varvatos (born in Detroit, Michigan):

Is an American contemporary menswear fashion designer. The Varvatos family are originally from the Greek island of Kefalonia. John Varvatos grew up in the metro Detroit suburb of Allen Park, a downriver community situated south of the city of Detroit. He attended Allen Park High School. Varvatos first worked for Polo Ralph Lauren in 1983 then worked at Calvin Klein in 1990, where he was head of menswear design.
