1. 

User group View_New Piloting

Step 1.

Login to BI launchpad with the user in the group View_New Piloting, in our case its Z28OVILL.

The first page is no longer the home tab, rather the document tab new piloting reporting folder. Thus

the user do not have to navigate in the hierarchy to find their report.

On the home page, user have only web intelligence application on both the application dropdown list

and the right side panel

The user do not have the right to modify the report, so they can only view their report and optionally if

they want, they are able to create a shortcut in their favorite folder.

In their favorite folder, they still cannot modify the report since it’s only a pointer to the main report in

the new piloting folder which has no edit right at folder level. However they can delete the shortcut or

make subsequent copies of it in their favorite folder.

User has only reading mode available, the design mode is hidden. The user can refresh, export to

pdf,excel etc, use their input control but they cannot save or modify the report in any sort.

Key User_New Pilotings

Again this group of user has access to only Web intelligence application.

However the user can copy their report and paste it in their favorite folder. Regardless of the folder

chosen, they cannot save it in the public folder hierarchy. Again they can only view their report but

cannot modify the report in any way (but they can modify the report if saved in their favorite folder).

In the favorite folder, the option to modify the report is enabled, so the user can safely modify their

report.

Saving property is only enabled for the favorite folder, therefore the user will not be able to save in any

other folder apart their favorite folder.

An example when the user tries to save in the new piloting reporting folder, an error message pops up

to warn the user that he cannot save in the respective folder.

Below is a screenshot of the user trying to save in the favorite folder.

In the following screenshot, you can find the saved report in the favorite folder.

User has reading and design mode, but some option are unable to prevent the user from messing with

the report properties.

Design mode is enabled and all options are available for use.

3. Admin_New Piloting

In this example we have added same user to the Admin_New Piloting group.

Group has admin access only to web intelligence. Therefore no other tools will be visible in both the

dropdown list or the application list on the right side of the panel.

Group has access to all folders in the BI Launchpad and therefore has rights to add/delete/edit

documents/report and so on.

Below is a screenshot showing that user can add folders/local document/publication/hyperlinks

User can also perform admin operations like delete, copy from any folder to other folder etc

View mode

View mode is accessible from the context menu. User has access to reading, and design mode.
