Dear Partners and Friends of ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA Copenhagen, København has welcomed me with a splendid summer. What more can I ask for! I am very happy to be here in my new role as Austrian Commercial Counsellor and look forward to the busy autumn that is ahead of us. We have some exciting events on the horizon. In October, a business delegation from the Austrian State of Styria headed by the Styrian Minister for Economic Affairs, and companies from the

sectors of Life Sciences, Smart Cities and Environmental Technology will be visiting Copenhagen to forge new business partnerships. In November, we are welcoming Austrian expert companies to our Fact Finding Mission "Traffic Infrastructure in Denmark and Norway", co-organized with our colleagues in the North. Further good news is that Austrian exports to Denmark have developed well during the first half of 2014 and increased by 2,75%. To recognize the successes of Austrian companies here in Denmark, we will add to our Business Success Stories Project. Did you know that an Austrian company is market leader in the luxury-clothing segment in the Nordic region? Or how an Austrian industrial automation supplier is very successful in the Danish wind industry? We are excited to provide you with more of these interesting stories, so watch this space! Our Success Stories Project To recognize the successes of Austrian companies in Denmark, we are presenting the success stories of selected, internationally active Austrian companies on posters and on our global platform advantageaustria.org. Edelweiss beer fresh from the tap Tivoli's popular bar Biergarten has been extensively renovated into an Austrian inspired Bierstube. To complete the Austrian concept the Biergarten serves Austrian Edelweiss beer fresh from the tap. You will find two brews available at the Biergarten: Hefetrüb and Dunkel. Read further.

Austria benefits tremendously from EU single market With an average annual gain of EUR 280 per capita, Austria is the third greatest beneficiary. The top two places go to Denmark and Germany. A study on the European single market commissioned by the Bertelsmann Foundation shows the extent to which members of the EU single market have benefited from European integration. With an average annual gain of EUR 280 per capita, Austria takes third place. Read further.

2014 Export Awards: Spotlight on Austria's top exporters The results of the 2014 Austrian Export Day, held for the 12th time, once again show that Austria's export industry is a great success even in challenging economic times. Not only did Austrian exports reach another all-time high last year of EUR 125.41 bn (+1.5%), but 24 June 2014 also saw the country's largest ever export-info event - a great success with around 3,000 visitors. LEGAL NEWS Adaption of tax rules for foreign researchers and key employees

Foreign researchers and key employees who are recruited from abroad to be employed in Denmark may enjoy a favourable tax treatment in Denmark.The said employees that qualify for the tax scheme are only subject to a tax rate of 26% + labour market contributions for a period of maximum 60. Some conditions must be fulfilled. Read further.

LEGAL NEWS - Have you registered your company at the Register of Foreign Service Providers - RUT? The Danish Working Environment Authority is undertaking controls of major construction sites in Denmark in co-operation with the Tax Authority, in order to ascertain that all foreign companies are correctly registered at RUT. In the event that foreign companies providing services in Denmark are not registered correctly, the Working Environment Authority will impose fines in the amount of up to 10.000 DKK. Read further.
