AUSTRALIAN ONLINE & TRAVELLERS LIONS CLUB
CHARTER DATE: JANUARY 3RD, 2018
NOVEMBER 2018
We provide a unique “Service” Club membership and our primary focus
is to retain existing Lions whose Lions Clubs may have closed and would
still like to remain Lions.
To welcome those Lions who would like to travel for extended periods of
time within and outside Australia and still remain a Lions Family
Member.
To provide an option for those Lions who are unable to attend a
mainstream Lions Club because they work away from home, who have
health problems, or the nearest Lions Club is just too far away for then to
remain Lions.
Our Lions Club goals are in keeping with the humanitarian, community
spirited, fun and service mindedness of Lions.
Our members are dedicated to assisting other Lions Clubs in helping to
make their communities a better place to live, work and grow.
We currently have members from Western Australia, Queensland,
Victoria, South Australia, New South Wales and New Zealand.

PRESIDENTS REPORT November 2018
Dear Lions
The Convention at South West Rocks was a great success and was
enjoyed by everyone. The Key Speakers were very enjoyable to listen to
and had some good pointers for all delegates. It was also great to catch
up with some old faces and also to meet new participant members. Lion
Ted joined with Lion John Matheson and won the bowls competition.
Lion was cranky when he took the Perpetual Shield as the badge had
not been put on for the time he won it before. So he put on both badges
and then had no beer money for the week. On the way up we stopped at
Denman Caravan Park and the park owner Rod wished to be
remembered to all Vanners who stopped there on the way to the
National Convention in Newcastle, especially his drinking mate, Lion
Bernie from our club.
Please remember that our AGM will be in December also it will be the
Official Visit from our District Governor Lion David Emanuel, so please
make a note of this in your diaries as I would appreciate full attendance
to both meetings. Yours in Lionism
Hazel Pickwell

10. Presidents Report: Presented by Lion Hazel
Dear Lions
Suddenly it is nearly time for the N1 Convention at South West Rocks. We will be
leaving next Sunday at the latest via The Golden Highway. At this Convention we are
allowed only 1 delegate and it was voted at a previous meeting that I would hold that
vote with Secretary Gwyneth as the Alternate Delegate. I look forward to catching up
with everybody again.
I would like to thank VP Lion Ted H for taking the September Meeting and doing a
great job, getting some practice in for next year.
Welcome back Arthur and thank you getting back in the swing of things in such a
short time. I know how hard it is to get up and running after a long absence.
I was Cook and Bottle Washer last weekend at the Grenfell Jockey Club Races, an
event run predominantly by Lions. It was exhausting as there were several thousand
people in attendance and all of them were starving or it seemed that way by the
volume of food devoured. This is a good event to log in your travel schedule for next
year.
I also did a lot of cooking for the Hospital Auxiliary who were having a street stall. It
will be nice to get on the road and put up the feet somewhere with a nice cold glass of
Chardy.
See you at South West Rocks.
Yours in Lionism President Lion Hazel Pickwell
