A - Anteater

Anteaters are unique animals there are many different types of anteaters. They have long snouts to get into ant holes and get their food. They have big clawed feet and have small eyes. They are mostly found in Melbourne.

B - Bilby

Bilbys are quite endangered and are like big mouses. They are grey with big ears and big feet, they also have a big snout. Bilbys are nocturnal and they feed on things like little insects. They are mainly found in Queensland and The Northern Territory.

C - CrocodileCrocodiles are the biggest reptiles on earth. They are still known as dinosaurs to this day. They are known for their aggressiveness'. They have scales and a yellow mouth on the inside. Crocodiles are over 10,000 years old. They eat anything they see or anyone.

D - DingoDingoes are like a wild dog. They are meat-eaters and feed on kangaroos and wallabies. Dingoes are known for their howling and their vicious bark. They are mostly found on the western side of Australia and the southern part.

E - EchidnaEchidnas are cute but very spiky and they have a long snout. Echidnas live in burrows and feed on ants. They have quite small claws and little, tiny eyes. Echidnas have brown spikes with yellow tips on them. Echidnas live from Broome to Perth.

F - FrogFrogs are amphibians, which mean they can live in water and out of water. There are many different types of frogs this is called the great tree frog which is australian.

G Great White SharkGreat white sharks have ruled the Indian and Pacific Ocean for over 420 years. They are known to eat people. Off the coast there has been attacks for over 420 years. They are the kings of the open waters. If you poke them in the eye they swim away. Great whites do not mean to kill, they have bad eyesight so they mistake people for seals. Because when they are in the open waters away from the shore, they eat seals. So when they are hungry for things they find people and mistake them for seals. So they eat them.

H - HorseIn Australia there is a certain type of Australian horse called a Brumby. Brumbies are wild, however many aboriginals have caught them to ride on. Brumbies come in many different colors and sizes. They are one of the biggest types of horses.

I - IrakanjiThe Irakanji jellyfish is the smallest known jellyfish alive. They feed on zooplankton, eggs, or anything stuck in its tentacles. They are as clear as can be and impossible to see. They have quite long tentacles. When you get stung put lemon juice or use steam sterilizer.

J - Jabiru Jabirus have very big feet and have large wings. They have a very long beak to pick up fish with . They have a neck of orange a big pink feet. They can fly very long distances.

K - KiwiKiwis are very endangered animals. There are only few left in the world because people keep building houses and cutting down their habitat. They have a long yellow beak and is very brown and furry. Kiwis do not grow very big. They have small round eyes and short, stubby feet.

L - LyrebirdLyrebirds are very small. They are also called miniature peacocks. They are like pigeons with long tails. They are brown with white and brown tail that looks like a snake. They have quite long legs.

M Manter RayThe Manter Ray is the largest species of the rays. It ranges through the tropical waters of Australia mostly around coral reefs. They have the largest brain out of all rays. They have quite a few different names, but scientific information shows that there is only one type of manter ray.

N - NumbatNumbats are small little creatures. They are light brown with a dark brown back with white stripes on its back. Numbats are endangered and there aren't many left. An adult Numbat eats up to 2,000 termites a day. In the wild they are not strong enough to break into termite mounds, so they just wait for them to come out. Numbats are threatened by loss of habitat through land clearing, fire and predation by feral predators including foxes and cats.

O Blue Ringed OctopusBlue-ringed octopuses are one of the smallest creatures on earth, they are small but deadly. One bite from one of these and its your funeral. There bite may look small but it is very bad. Blue-ringed octopuses are yellow with blue rings on them. They have 2 small eyes on both sides of there faces. An adult doesn't grow very big. They feed on plankton.

P - PeacockPeacocks are beautiful birds, but in bird world the males are the prettiest. The males are blue and green, and they Have a yellow beak and big, long legs. The females, however are brown and white and can not fluff up their feathers. Both of them have a single feather on the top of their head. Peacocks feed on small insects and fish. Baby peacocks do not get their feathers till when they are older. When they are little, they look like ordinary chickens. With a black tipped tail.

Q - QuokkaQuokkas are like small kangaroos. They are found in Melbourne and Rottnest Island. They are dark brown with little paws and little black eyes. They have very good hearing and like kangaroos, hop around. Quokkas feed on any food they find. They are marsupials and have a pouch. Quokkas are usually found in groups of 2-4. They do not travel in large groups.

R Reticulated PythonReticulated Pythons are very long. They feed on deers and cows or any farm animals. They have yellow, black and green stripes. They sometimes have silver on them. Reticulated Pythons live in tree hollows or a deep hole. They can not eat for about 6-8 months. Reticulated Pythons eat up lots and then get ready for hibernation for the winter. They are mainly found in the southern of Australia.

S Australian SealThe Australian seal is not like other seals, it is light brown and cream. It has longer flippers, but is a bit smaller than the Antarctican seal. The Australian seal lives in Queensland around the Great Barrier Reef. They feed on Fish and plankton. The Australian seal spends a lot of its time above water as well as underwater. It is very smooth skin and quite long whiskers

T Australian Sea TurtleThe Australian sea turtle is smaller than other turtles. It has big flippers and really big eyes. They are really fast swimmers and a much faster than other turtles. They have freckles all over their eyes. There are only 6 different types of sea turtles most of them are found in Australia. Australian sea turtles have curved flippers that help them to push off

U Upland sandpiperUpland Sandpipers are small creatures with long, bouncy legs. Upland Sandpipers are swift and quick with a long neck and long pointy beak. They are known to be able to survive close to being eaten deaths. Upland Sandpipers feed on small bugs in the grass and earthworms in the dirt. They have small but very sharp claws.

V Vampire batVampire bats as all bats are Nocturnal. They, as their name says they feed on blood and bite other animals to drink their blood. They often carry lots of diseases such as Rabies or yellow fever. They are commonly found in Rainforests around Australia. They are one of the smallest types of bats found.

W - WombatWombats live in burrows, they are marsupials. They have a pouch but it is turned around and faces the back, because when they dig they wont get it in their babys face. Wombats are small and roundish. They are quite endangered. Wombats feed on fruits and plants. They are big, fat and most commonly brown.

X X-rayfishX-ray Fishes are most commonly found in South America. They are called x-ray fish because their body is mostly transparent. They are also found commonly as pets. They feed on plankton and smaller fish. X-ray fish can grow to about 2.5cm which is pretty small. Nowadays they are most commonly bred rather than caught wild.

Y Yellow bellied MarmotYellow bellied marmots are also mistaken for wombats or Beavers. They live in the rocky mountains in North America. They hibernate during winter in small caves. They have big brown eyes and a usually all different shades of brown.

Z Zebra FishZebra Fish a very exotic creatures, they as their name says are striped. Zebra fish may look sweet but are very deadly. They have a sharp nip and can carry deadly diseases. They feed on Plankton and reef bits. They have wispy bits of hair up the top a bit like a mowhawk.
