World is moving from technology and product leadership game to commercial service and business game!

Network

Productiontechnology

Computing leadership is getting stronger in the USA

• Processors and operating systems• Service paradigms• Cloud computing• Future InternetMobile leadership is not so clear• LTE and smart phones will proceed• New phenomena and concepts

from the USADisplay technology leadership will remain

in the far eastProduction technology leadership goes

to Asia, where are the production volumes too

Network leadership is shared between Europe and USA, China will gain position

In the content business USA is the leader

USA: computing EU: mobile but loosing, not gaining in any area | still strong in space, aero and automotive ICT

Services offer the biggest market opportunity for ICT

MARKET CONCLUSION

29.4.2011

Source: IBM, development in the USA

(A) Agriculture:Value from

harvesting nature

(G) Goods:Value from

making products

(S) Services:Value from enhancing the

capabilities of things (customizing, distributing, etc.) and interactions between things

The relatively shrinking goods industries will start to use horizontal ICT technology but slowly. The ICT-utilization is driven by productivity gain and growth opportunities and based on the reutilization of solutions, which are firstly created in and for the service industry
