In the south side of the river Tagus, Barreiro is one of the busiest commuter centres for ferries crossing the Tagus; so, it can easily be reached crossing the calm waters of the river by ferry. But you can also get the city crossing one of the two bridges that link it with the capital. There is also a railway station (1863) at the ferry terminal from whence trains leave for Setúbal and the South of Portugal (Alentejo and Algarve).

Physical Education

The school includes a group of six paralel blocks with a two-storey structure. The blocks are linked by a covered passageway. There are two separate buildings – the Gym and the Dining Hall - a Sport court and a parking area. It is situated in Maria Lamas Street, Alto Seixalinho (one of the 8 parishes of Barreiro), near the Highway (I.C. 21). It is delimited to the South by Hospital, to the North by wastelands, to the East by the Abílio Mendes Priest Elementary School and to the West by recent residential buildings and by some forms of old worker’s housing dating from the industrial times of the city.
