Many brothers and sisters remember years backwhen we would crowd into a small store frontbuilding on the south side of Chicago each
Saturday to observe the Sabbath.Brother Daniel Ashford and brotherHenry Buie would bring the uncutWord of God and clear up all the fal-lacies and false doctrine that mostof us had grown up with. TheIsrael of God bible class was thestart of, what is now in Chicago andbeyond; congregations of pastorswarning their flocks of false apos-tles like Paul mentioned in the scrip-tures “For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transformingthemselves into the apostles of Christ.” II CORINTHIANS
11:13. They warned the people like Paul taught in thescriptures of some who would come preaching “anotherJesus.” (II CORINTHIANS 11: 1 - 4).
Prior to people meeting in the storefront building dur-ing the early 1980s, they would meet at the homes of dif-ferent brothers and sister's each Sabbath to study. TheLate brother James Stern held a bible class also on thesouth side of Chicago. He was the teacher of brotherDaniel Ashford and Henry Buie. The Lord has used all ofthese brothers to continue to teach the Uncut Word. Hesaid His word would be preached throughout all the earth.
In the early 80s, brothers had yet to produce books, television shows pertaining to the True Word of God. Thiswas even before the internet. They came together eachSabbath using the King James Version of the bible, somehistory books, encyclopedias, dictionaries, and maps toclearly teach the bible. Everyone would have a pen andpaper, taking notes like a regular classroom because theyshared lots of scriptures each week from various topics.
During that time we would meet each Sabbath, lis-tening to lessons on the edge of our seats, and hearingthings that were the total opposite of what we learned in
Sunday school. At first we had tocheck our bibles to see if it was real-ly the same bible used in Sundayschool because so many new thingswere revealed to us. When brothersand sisters first came to bible class itwas like being in a room of darknessand having the light turned on. Wediscovered that everything welearned in the traditional Sundaychurches was the opposite of what“thus saith the Lord.” We grew upthinking when you die you go to
heaven but Bro. Daniel and Bro. Henry taught lessonsrevealing scriptures where the Lord spoke of returning tothe earth "...Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospelof the kingdom of God." MARK 1:14 He even told us topray to our Heavenly Father, "Thy kingdom come. Thy willbe done in earth, as it is in heaven." MATTHEW 6:10. Wediscovered that there was no place in the scriptures ofpeople going to heaven when they die. Job talked aboutwaiting for his change to come. “I wait, till my changecome.” JOB 14: 14-15.
For so many years most of us had joined the rest ofthe world and its traditions, dragging pine trees into ourhomes during the “so called” holidays and decking ourtrees with silver and gold for Christmas each December25th, but the scriptures revealed to us that we were doingthis all in vain. (Jeremiah 10). The Lord even said thiswould happen “...they have put no difference between theholy and profane, neither the unclean and the clean, andhave hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profanedamong them.” EZEKIEL 22: 26. The Lord said many

would believe fables. (II Timothy 4: 4).Actually God said remember his death, because he died for our sins, not his birth thateveryone chooses to celebrate on December25th. As people continued studying with broth-er Bro. Buie and Bro. Ashford we saw the realimportance of observing the Lord's High daysthat he said should be kept throughout all gen-erations, for an everlasting covenant. (Leviticus23: 41). We came together on God's appointedHigh days for some wonderful feasts where thebible was taught and we would feast on agrand spread of food during these times andcontinue to do so as the Lord has commanded.
The Lord allowed his word to be taughtbeyond that small storefront on the south sideof Chicago, as the congregation has grown. TheIsrael of God moved into a larger building onthe south side in the late 1980s, and a local TVshow was produced The Bible Speaks thatintroduced more people to God's Uncut Word.Bro. Buie wrote a book Four Winds of Heaven. You can purchase this book at The House ofJacob if you are interested in getting a copy.Other bible classes have branched off from TheIsrael of God, including Bro. Daniel's, who established The House of Jacob bible class onthe west side of Chicago in 1999. Bro. Elijahalso established a class in Gary, Indiana called,Israel, Church of Jesus and Brother Marlon

NEW YORK, March 27, 2008 (AP) Someworkers are doing it at Dunkin' Donuts, atHilton hotels, even at Marine Corps bases.
Employees at a growing number of busi-nesses are starting and ending their days bypressing a hand or finger to a scanner that logs
the precise time oftheir arrival anddeparture - informa-tion that is automati-cally reflected in pay-roll records.
Manufacturerssay these biometric devices improve efficiencyand streamline payroll operations. Employersbig and small buy them with the dual goals ofkeeping workers honest and automating out-dated record-keeping systems that rely onpaper time sheets.
The new systems have raised complaints, however, from some workers who see theefforts to track their movements as excessive orcreepy.
"They don't even have to hire someone toharass you anymore. The machine can do it forthem," said Ed Ott, executive director of theNew York City Central Labor Council of the AFL-CIO. "The palm print thing really grabs peopleas a step too far."
The International Biometric Group, a con-sulting firm, estimated that $635 million worthof these high-tech devices were sold last year, and projects that the industry will be worthmore than $1 billion by 2011.

Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies, a leading manufacturer of handscanners based in Campbell, California, said it has sold at least 150,000 ofthe devices to Dunkin' Donuts and McDonald's franchises, Hilton hotelsand to Marine Corps bases, who use them to track civilian hours.
Protests over using palm scanners to log employee time have beenespecially loud in New York City, where officials are spending $410 millionto install an automated attendance tracking system that may eventuallybe used by 160,000 city workers.
Scores of civil servants who are members of Local 375 of the CivilService Technical Guild rallied Tuesday against a plan to add the city med-ical examiner's office to the list of 17 city agencies which already have thescanners in place.
The scanners have rankled draftsmen, planners and architects in thecity's Parks Department, which began using them last year.
"Psychologically, I think it has had a huge impact on the work forcehere because it is demeaning and because it's a system based on mis-trust," said Ricardo Hinkle, a landscape architect who designs city parks.
He called the timekeeping system a bureaucratic intrusion on profes-sionals who never used to think twice about putting in extra time on aproject they cared about, and could rely on human managers to exercisea little flexibility on matters regarding work hours.
"The creative process isn't one that punches in and punches out," hesaid.
A spokesman for Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Matthew Kelly, said thesystem is not meant to be intrusive and has clear benefits over old-stylepunch clocks or paper time sheets.
The city expects to save $60 million per year by modernizing acomplicated record keeping system that now requires one full-time
timekeeper for every 100 to 250 employees. The new system, dubbedCityTime, would free up thousands of city employees to do less paper-pushing.
Another benefit of the system is curtailing fraud. Several times eachyear, New York City's Department of Investigation charges city employeeswith taking unauthorized time off and falsifying timecards to make itlooked as though they worked.
Other cities have embraced similar technology.Cities as big as Chicago and as small as Tahlequah, Oklahoma, have
turned to fingerprint-driven ID systems to record employee work hours inrecent few years. And the systems have been introduced into plenty ofother workplaces without much grumbling by employees, especially thosealready used to punching a clock.
But the New York workers are not the first to fight it. The AmericanFederation of State, County and Municipal Employees complained vigor-ously two years ago after the city of Pittsburgh proposed installing finger-print readers.
"We had a lot of questions, a lot of concerns, and so far they haven'tput it in," said AFCME Council 84 Director Richard Caponi.
Jon Mooney, Ingersoll Rand's general manger of biometrics, said theprivacy concerns are unfounded. The hand scanners do not keep largedatabases of people's fingerprints - only a record of their hand shape, hesaid.
Still, union officials in New York said they are concerned that themachines could eventually be used not just to crack down on employeesskipping work, but to nitpick honest workers or invade their privacy.
"The bottom line is that these palm scanners are designed to exer-cise more control over the workforce," said Claude Fort, president of Local375. "They aren't there for security purposes. It has nothing to do withproductivity... It is about control, and that is what makes us nervous."
