I recently read that one of the most common sleep complaints that we as Americans have is the loss of sleep, caused by anxiety and worry. If you are like most people, then many of your nights in bed are spent, not getting the 6-8 hours of sleep that is suggested, instead it is spent replaying all of the stressful parts of your day, which includes, not just the present day, but tomorrow as well. Recent studies have revealed that much of this sleep loss is experienced by those aged 35-55. These studies have also shown that those who experience sleep loss brought on by worry and stress are at a greater risk to suffer from cardiovascular problems. With all this being said, what role, if any, should worry and anxiety play in the life of a Christian? Should we as believers be exempt from worry altogether, or has God provided a means for us to deal with stress in a way that protects our health and brings glory and honor to Him? Today we will answer these and other questions in our message, “An Enemy at the Gate.” - Pr. Charles A.
