AUGUST 30, 2016 RICHLAND HILLS CHRISTIAN CHURCH THE CHURCH VISITOR Our Goal is 200 plus this year! Let’s do THIS! September 18 th will be here before you know it and I hope we are all praying for 200+ in worship that morning. I spoke to one of our members the other day and they were really excited by that possibility, as am I. But ulBmately it comes down to you. This past Sunday I preached about how we see God. Do we see God’s glory and holiness fully? Do we see the love he fully expressed through His son Jesus Christ on the Cross? How does this make us feel? Does our image and understanding of God moBvate us to share our love of God with others? In addiBon to how we have come to know God, what place he holds in our lives, we also need to examine ourselves about how we see and feel about others, and parBcularly those that don’t have a relaBonship with God. If we look within ourselves and recognize what God has done for us, do we want that for others? Does it burden our souls to think about and see each day those that have never experienced the love of God? (Here’s a hint it should bother us that so many in our world don’t know the love of God.) So here is our chance! Decide in your heart that God’s love is something everyone needs to experience. In that spirit say a prayer and invite people as many as you want. Remind them the week of Back to Church Sunday and then be ready to welcome them that morning. And then thank God for what he has done. I think if we all do this we will be amazed at what can happen. In 2014 we had 99 in worship on Back to Church Sunday - previous week 74. In 2015 we had 140 in worship on Back to Church Sunday - previous week 80. We can do this if we all do our part. 200+!!! Our average worship this year is 120+. --Pastor Paul All Church Workday - Sept. 10, 2016 Well, it may not be all day, but on September 10, starBng at 9:00 am, we want to cleanup and prepare for Back to Church Sunday the following week. it mainly will be straightening and organizing throughout the facility as well as throwing things away we no longer need. So, make some Bme that Saturday morning to join us. The Men’s Ministry will provide a light breakfast for those who a]end. Together we accomplish more. Together we are the Body of Christ. People who are guests of our church look around more than you think at how we maintain our facility, so for Back to Church Sunday let’s make it as perfect as possible. The most literal way to define a “Follower of Jesus” is “Someone who goes where Jesus goes.” I’m not sure how you can call yourself a follower

of Jesus if you refuse to go where Jesus went. If you are following Jesus “wherever,” he will take you towards a sinner that others wouldn’t want to be seen with. You will find yourself among the sick that others tried to avoid. If you follow Jesus, expect to find yourself being criticized by some of the religious people in your life. If you follow Jesus you may find that your family thinks you’re crazy ... his did. You may find yourself being unfairly accused and unjustly treated by those in political office. Ultimately if you follow Jesus “wherever,” you won’t just end up covered in his dust, you will end up covered in his blood.

From not a fan.--by Kyle Idleman
