St. Turibius Parish is selling fleece jackets, polo shirts, t-shirts and hoodies with our new Parish Logo. Order forms and samples are in the back of church on display. Please complete an order

form and either drop it in the collection basket or return to the rectory.

What a wonderful way to show your “St. Turibius Pride” as our Parish Familycelebrates our “90th Anniversary” this year.

We are planning to replace the Church rug and have major work done on our Church organ. This fundraiser hopefully will defray some of the cost.

Thank you for your continuous support!

From the Pastor’s Desk Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

On August 28th is the Feast of St. Augustine. The Priests who serve St. Turibius Parish are part of The Order of St. Augustine, or Augustinian Order.

The “Augustinians” are based upon the teaching of the Bishop of Hippo (354 - 430 A.D.), was founded in 1244, to live and promote the spirit of

community as lived by the first Christian communities (Acts of the Apostles 4, 32-35).

There are many ways in which to describe the Augustinian Order, to speak of its character, its history, its mission, its charism. First and foremost,

however, the Augustinian Order is people - men and women - who, in the words of the Rule we profess, "Live together in harmony, being of one mind and one heart on the way to God." We are Christians who, captivated by the

example of Saint Augustine, journey together, as we build our house and serve the Lord's people.

The basis of our life is the Rule of St. Augustine. Simply stated, all Augustinian Communities through out the world are to live out the

following principle:

The main purpose for your having come together is to live harmoniously in your house, intent upon God, with one heart and one soul (Acts 4:32).

Therefore, call nothing your own, but let everything be yours in common. Food and clothing shall be distributed to each of you by your superior, not equally to all, for all do not enjoy equal health, but rather according to each

one’s need. For so you read in the Acts of the Apostles that “they had all things in common, and each was given what he needed” (Acts 4:32, 35).

The Augustinian Community that serves St. Turibius asks that you pray for us on our patron’s feast day. But more importantly, we ask that you join us in living out this ideal from St. Augustine. This ideal is closely linked to our parish’s mission: “We share Christ’s light and our faith is deepened as we

celebrated the diversity of our Parish.”

Estimados Hermanos/as en Cristo,

Przede wszystkim jednak,

Order Augustianów to ludzie- mężczyźni i kobiety - których słowa wyznajemy, "żyć razem w harmonii, będąc jednym umysłem i jednym sercem w drodze do Boga."

Jesteśmy chrześcijanami, którzy urzeczeni przykładem świętego Augustyna, podróżujemy razem, podczas gdy budujemy nasz dom i służymy ludziom Pana.

Podstawą naszego życia jest reguła św Augustyna. Krótko mówiąc, wszystkie Społeczności Augustiańskie obecnie na świecie mają żyć wobec następującej

zasady:

Parish Mission Statement

We Believe that God is Love, and when we live in love we live in God and God lives in

us! Therefore we, the Parish Family of Saint Turibius, dedicate ourselves to living out

Christ’s Great Commandment: we will love the Lord our God with all our heart, with all our soul, with all our mind, and with all our strength, and we will show our love for God

by the way we love and care for one another. To this end, we will respond to our baptismal

call, strengthened by the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and empowered by

the Holy Spirit. As a Family of Faith that has an Attitude of Gratitude for the gifts God has given to us, we will share our time, our talent

and our treasure with each other. We welcome into our parish family all people, because we

believe that together we are the Body of Christ and together we can bring the love, peace,

forgiveness, healing, and joy of Christ into our community in ways we never could have if we were to remain apart. May all who meet us, who worship with us, who work and play with

us, know we are Christians by our love!
