There will be no meetings held for the Charismatic Prayer Group in July and August. The meetings will resume Wednesday, September 12 at 7:45 p.m. in the Rectory Large Conference Room. There will be no Healing Mass in August.

The RELIGIOUS EDUCATION PROGRAM office opens on Monday, August 27

th from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon

LATE REGISTRATION for Religious Education will be held on Thursday, August 30

th - This will be the last

time you can register. Registration will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Re-Registration is for anyone who attended last year and did not register by mail in the spring.

Fees for Re-Registration as of 6/8/18 are: 1 child $305, 2 children $445, 3 or more children $550.

New Registration will also be accepted at this time for any family registering for Religious Education for the first time.

All families coming for Religious Education for the first time need: a) To be registered in the parish prior to registering in the

Religious Education Program. Proof of Parish registration is required (envelope #).

b) Copy of Baptismal Certificate c) A Statement (transcript) of all prior Religious Education,

if the student is beyond first grade in Public School. d) First Holy Communion and Penance, records, if the

sacrament has already been received.

Fees for new families ONLY are: 1 child $230, 2 children $370, 3 or more children $475. All fees must be paid by check.

Music Department

Music ministry provides beauty, joy, comfort, inspiration and musical prayer for our communal liturgies and various parish celebrations. This is possible due to the generous sharing of time and talent of diverse and committed members. If you want to meet a new group of friends while aiding in worship, come to one of our rehearsals and see what it’s all about! Our Music Department is always recruit-ing new members for all our Choirs. For more information on any of these groups, please contact Sandra at holychild-music@yahoo.com or at 347-560-1793

All choirs will resume rehearsals on Tuesday, September 18

th in the church except for the Youth Choir. The Youth

Choir will resume rehearsals on Tuesday, September 25

th.

Note – there are no fees to join any of the choirs.

Music Department Open House - We will have an Open House for each choir on the first day of rehearsals (see above for starting dates). This is an opportunity for you to come sing (or ring) with us to see if this is something you would enjoy!

Youth Choir (Grades 3+) (beginning 9/25)

Tuesday: 3:30 p.m. – 4:45 p.m.

The Youth Choir participates twice a month at the Family Masses throughout the school year. They also perform in a special Christmas Eve Concert before Mass. Teen Choir (Grades 8+)

The Teen Choir will sing at Family Masses with the Youth Choir as well as at other Parish celebrations, including Christmas and Easter. Please contact Sandra for more information. Youth Ensemble (students proficient on all instruments)

This ensemble of young musicians participates at the two monthly Family Masses, Christmas and Easter Masses. Rehearsals are on Sundays before Mass with an occasional rehearsal during the week. New and returning members should contact Sandra for more information. This is a great opportunity to get experience performing in front of people while aiding in worship. All instruments welcome!

Handbell Choir (children and adults) (beginning 9/18)

Tuesday: 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

The Choir meets from mid-September through the Feast of Corpus Christi. The Choir rings twice a month at Sunday Mass and for special Feasts and parish celebrations. They also perform for the community several times a year, including at Christmas in Richmondtown and Scalia Tree-Lighting Ceremonies. Neither experience nor ability to read music is required to join the group.

The Choir (beginning 9/18)

Tuesday: 7:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

This group sings at the 11:00 a.m. Mass from September through the Feast of Corpus Christi in the spring. Music reading ability is helpful, but not required. The choir sings different styles of music, including traditional and contemporary.

Cantors

If you are interested in becoming a cantor at any of the Masses, please contact Sandra for information regarding training. Note – you do not need to commit to being a cantor every week.
