Presentation Title: The Role of Surgery in the Treatment of Sleep Apnoea – Evidence from 1000 patients
Mr Vik Veer works at the Royal National Throat Nose & Ear Hospital, Central
London, UK. He works alongside with Professor Kotecha at the Sleep
Medicine Department. He is a co-founder of the British Association of Sleep
Surgeons and works solely with OSA patients in his NHS practice at the
RNTNE hospital. He has developed a new classification and technique for
Drug Induced Sleep Endoscopy to improve its reliability and validity. The
STAMP score is a new patient reported outcome measure for OSA developed
by Mr. Vik Veer.
Presentation Title: Respira Libre®: Diode’s Laser for In Office Endoscopic Surgery Center, a new type of ENT Center exclusive for patients with obstructive nasal diagnosis.
Sajidxa Mariño is an Otolaryngologist, specialized in endoscopic surgery. In
2017 he created the Centro Respira Libre, dedicated exclusively to the
treatment of nasal obstructions and snoring with diode laser in the office of

Presentation Title: Predictive biomarkers for treatment response in Head and Neck cancer
Karin Roberg has worked at the Department of Otorhinolarygology in
Linköping since 2003 and is a professor in Experimental Otorhinolaryngology.
The research of her group is focused on biomarkers for treatment response in
head and neck cancer.

Presentation Title: Clinical implications of the nasal septal deformities
Marin Šubarić was born in 1955 in Zagreb, Croatia. He graduated from Zagreb University Medical School in 1979 and is an ENT specialist from 1990. In the field of rhinology he focused on the incidence of particular types of septal deformities according to Mladina's international classification. These studies under the leadership of prof.Mladina, confirmed dominantly inherited septal deformities type 5 and 6. Second research proved that type 6 of septal deformity stays in close relationship to the cleft lip/palate (CLP) occurrence in newborns. Thanks to his recent research, now we know that people carrying one of types 5 or 6, besides already well known proved factors, have a predilection factor for the onset of an acute coronary syndrome. He practiced for twenty years as Head of the ENT Clinic at Dubrava University Hospital in Zagreb. From 2017 he is a full time professor at University North in Varaždin, Croatia.
